I replayed every souls game in the past few months. It's been lots of fun. DaS3 is the least enjoyable, getting stunlocked to death while in full armor by an emaciated hollow with a dagger isn't fun. DaS3 has way worse enemy ganks than DaS2. The worst boss fight is Bed of Chaos from DaS1 despite DaS1 being pretty good in most places.

And thats pretty much the ACTUAL reason why people bitch more about ds2 and sotfs, they just got their shit kicked in because its the one game that keeps you always on your toes and encourages you to have a vast arsenal

The boss fight was often a culmination of a level with the level not just being filler between boss fights. The thing that hurts DaS2 for most people is that you're not invisible walking through fogwalls, opening doors, or opening chests. That makes it so you actually have to beat enemies.
