Did anyone else really have a thing for certain objects in video games and how they were modeled and textured? As a kid -and even know but I feel modern game graphics don't give off the same feel- I'd always love to see objects around the game world, gave me that curious feeling the same one that miniature props do irl, I would get really close and look at things I felt looked very nice on their own and appreciated how they just sit there in their environmentWho else did thisPost some of your favorite objects
I especially like the ones that look like I can feel what they'd feel like to touch, what their texture and weight would be like

I really like the Eidar cheese in SkyrimI always enjoyed picking it up even if I didn't need it just because it felt good to pick up so I would end up with too much cheese and would cover every table I came across with Eidar cheesesI like the texture I feel like I could imagine holding it>>724799198Anon please behave yourself on my thread

>Used to play games as a kid where you walk around the world and can kick things over and not cause havoc>Would prefer to just observe things>Walk through carefully and not destroy anything and would put items back in their place if they fell downI'm not even a neat freak I just liked seeing how everything was placed in the world
Quality thread, OP; I'm afraid, though, that I've but a humble bump to offer.
If you go on ArtStation you can find high resolution images of the various props in many games.Makes me appreciate the effort that goes into modern games. Random background objects have a lot of love and attention to detail put into it.
>>724804697Yeah I love item models and textures in general but these ones just don't give me that same feeling for whatever reason, maybe it's cause they're too detailed and also the world around them is as wellThose simple low poly ones always feel a certain way, so much focus placed on them and they're so neat looking, the lack of realism yet attention to detail makes them intriguingI wish I could articulate exactly what I feel when I look at them and why they appeal to me
I like Mike Kublnika's stuff, how all technology looks stuck in a gritty, grungy limbo between 1940 and 1980, how interactivity with objects is rewarding and how he actually takes advantage (consciouslly or not) of low-poly graphics to give his games a personal flavour. Can't find high-res shit on google
