Just finished Dragon Quest 1 remake. And it surpassed my expectations by far. I wanted a few extra quests and QOL changes. And they did those way beyond what I expected. It's actually surprising how much character development and story they could add to what was a simple original game. But the biggest thing is the harder difficulty. One guy fighting multiple monsters. And how the hero now learns tons of spells and abilities. Some people are already complaining about it being too hard. But it's actually just right. A good challenge for veteran RPG players. Now to play Dragon Quest II. Which I hope has even more changes/improvements.
It surpassed your expectations? That supposed to mean anything when your expectations were below the floor anyway considering we are talking about DQ1? Get out of here.
>>724822419Oh, what a tough guy. I'm shaking.
>>724822121Would you call it a different game entirely?
>>724822894Pathetic.
>>724823123Aside from having some of the same enemies and locations, pretty much, yes. Even most of the mechanics of the old game were redone to add world building. It isn't even that similar to III HD Remake in tone or gameplay. It improved upon III HD in a lot of ways.
>>724823476Yeah, that's what I figured from the previews.Which makes me wonder why they decided to make it a DQ1 remake in the first place. It probably would have done better if it was advertised as a new game.
how's the censorship this time around?
>>724823535Well, the main appeal of the game is going to be for fans who wanted a remake of I and II. And the main story beats of DQ1 still exist. They just added to them a bunch.>>724823583No censorship. But the usual forced localization, sadly. Not as bad as some other games. But still clearly not accurate to the original Japanese.
>>724824110I'm just saying. Not hating.
>>724822419>old badDragon Quest 1, like Zelda 1, is still a good game.
