It is a perfect game because it makes zoomers seethe with rage till the end of time.
I can still play the original just fine years later. I did try randomizer for fun and getting to skip through the owl dialogs was probably something I would take over the original, but otherwise not necessary. Rnadomizer was pretty nice because it did test me on how well I remember where treasure boxes were and how to get to some places based on what I have.

My favorite way to play this game is with the gold 1.0 cartridge on my Blue N64 console. The only thing that I "upgrade" is I switched to an RGB modded N64, so I could use scart cabkes and an open source scan convertor.

There's a couple of very small nitpicks but still to this day, I think it remains the closest thing to a 10/10, definitely the peak of it's genre.What's surprising to me is the lack of 3d Zelda clones (OoT style, not BotW). I can't think of any game that has been made to mimic or challenge OoT, maybe I'm brainfarting. People used to say Darksiders which was laughable

I think the gameplay and flow of OOT and MM were really good. I feel like the number of enemies and diversity of enemies you fight was lacking during the N64 era though. You never really needed to use your entire arsenal of weapons to beat places and this was made even worse in TP where the secret swordskills removed any need for items in combat.

No way of optimizing this part and even with the fast forward song it takes forever.Wind waker has the pirate fortress stealth mission right after you find the sword, which removes it from you and it also requires you to advance extremely slowly.TP is just the worst offender of this because the padding and unnecessary tutorials takes it to the next level. But yeah, it took BotW since Oot to leave the player some agency to have fun and figure shit by himself at his own pace.
