Even beyond the designs being ugly (muted simple colours, realistic detail contrasted with bright colours, generally just unappealing greebles everywhere) I genuinely do not get what Sony was expecting with ConcordIt was a full price game in a genre where the norm had been f2p for a long time. It was announced like half a year before release with a really generic CG trailer that had no gameplay. It wasn't even clear that it was a team based Overwatch-like when they did show gameplay a few months before release because of the weird fucking corpospeak. I'm aware that higher ups don't get what makes things work, but I functionally don't get how even this didn't raise red flags for them
