In the OG, the pigs were 3D models that contrasted with the rest of the world, amplifying the feeling of some otherworldly curse, something really wrong. The black trees in the background added to it. In the remake pigs are more or less in line with the rest of the artistic sensibilities of the game, and the background trees are just cardboard, nothing crazy.It doesn't look horrible, but they missed the point. One of many.

>>724858870My nitpick of choice is the battle screen.The little streamer aesthetic was great and fit the rest of the game like a glove. Nobody was actually asking to go back to 64's bubble look (and even then, 64's was all in one big dropdown which was a lot of its appeal).

They should make Paper Zelda, and then Paper Starfox and Paper Punchout, instead of trying to do TTYD again (which they would probably fail to recapture, because fans have insatiable expectations at this point).

>>724859674I think people have been waiting too long and have probably built "classic Paper Mario" up too much as a thing in their heads.They should take the base RPG systems and paper aesthetic, and apply it to different Nintendo franchises. I think it would be neat, and would probably make them less inclined to tack on gimmicks.
