Zoomer here. Question for boomers:
What was the bigger trainwreck, Star Wars Galaxies or TORtanic?
>>
Zoomer as well: Concord beats both

I'm a Zoomer too where are the boomers

TORtanic has made close to a billion dollars in profit.

Concord wiped the floor with every other game desu. That's a difficult thing to do.

But Tortanic was just pure funny
>>
Star Wars Galaxies was good though

>"tortanic"
It was a force meme then and is force meme now, probably started by blizzard shills. It was fun to level in and pvp casually

tortanic blowup was funny at the time, and despite not getting talked about much, the game is still around, has made multiple x it's development and operating costs and still regularly gets thousands of concurrent users.
I still think it's a trainwreck if only because of the legacy in the public consciousness it left emboldening shazamtrannies.
Star wars galaxies has been dead for over a decade now unless you're one of 15 people still playing on a private server
>>
Galaxies wasn't a 'train wreck', it was a niche MMO that did fine for years with a great community

It was only later in its life when the devs made dramatic transformations to it chasing the trends WoW had set that pushed their own audience away

People liked it until the NGE update tried to turn the game into WoW and killed it.
I remember when the first expansion came out and added space combat, it was like getting an entirely new game in an expansion.

"le to-tanic" was a failed forced meme by desperate guildtrannies trying to deflect attention from their trainwreck. TOR was and is a big success, and guildtrannies lost. I'm impartial to the matter, but this is just how it is.

The launch of Star Wars Galaxies is notorious for being one of the biggest disasters ever along with FFXIV

TORtanic was a trashfire, but the NGE for Galaxies literally led to the game designer committing suicide and the entire playerbase evaporating and fleeing to other MMOs.

Granted I was a dumb kid at the time but I don't remember that being the reputation of the game at the time. Plus looking back at reviews it averaged a 7/10 which isn't exactly dumpster fire territory.
Gonna need a source on that one buddy.
