Beyond Oasis has punchy streets of rage style beat em up combat, Xanadu Next has dark fantasy ambience and comfy exploration.Illusion of Gaia just came off as a really mid game with unfun combat and with nothing fun really keeping my interest.
The Lego Rock Raiders remake.Was pretty fun.

I just beat Treasure of the Rudras last night.Game had some cool ideas, mainly the mantra system, but fuck man does it lack a lot of polish and it drags bad, definitely not the hidden gem it was cracked up to be.

I feel like there's some dissonance between the story that's mostly treated as an afterthought, and the atmosphere that was clearly considered important and has care and effort put into it. Makes me wonder what was going through their heads at Id, because in addition to being a technical leap forward, it almost looks as if it was going to be an artistic leap forward as well, and I wonder what caused the story to be like it was. All that said, it was a good Doomclone. Much better level design than your typical WAD.
