What keeps VR from making it big? Why are gamers so against progress?
There's already a thread, retard.
>>724873375>What keeps VR from making it big?VRChat TOS
>>724873375>What keeps VR from making it big?Two tiny monitors strapped to your head not being VR for one.
>>724873375Why are VR headsets so expensive? They're essentially just screens with some hardware. Your phone already has a gyroscope that lets you move 3D environment around when you move it. What's inside a VR that makes it so costly?
>>724873375The only use of VR is masturbation. The form factor is too inconvenient for video games and the benefits aren't worth the hassle.
>>724874525>The form factor is too inconvenient for video gamesI don't play flat shit anymore if it has a vr mod
>>724874460lensesalso vr is less expensive than smartphones t bh
VR is a rich people hobby, I've met a ton of famous people in VR. Lauren Phillips for example plays on the SND server on pavlov.
>>724873375potato PCs, VR is crazy good
>expensive>despite this also needs more expensive hardware for the games>no games that really use it>like 40% of the population outright can't use it due to inner ear issuesIt's basically fucked
>>724874934>I've met a ton of famous people in VRdont listen to himyour far more likely to meet unsupervised children playing on quest
>>724874934I met the Burger King Foot Lettuce guy in VRChat. The voice is so unmistakable.
>>724874075Now if only we could emulate the feeling of being warmly and safely ensconced in a woman's giant titty cleavage...
VR gets good thousands of hours in. I've gotten used to the Q2 that I'm posting this shit in VR.
>>724873375Most of the games feel like empty tech demos, flash games, or like Walmart brand ripoffs of better IPs.
>>724874648Mac1ej N0wicki why do you have a battlestation in a photo room?
expensive niche hardware -> no good games -> hardware is still expensive and niche -> no good games are made because it's expensive and niche -> repeat foreveryou will never be a real gaming medium
>>724875164>playing on questWe are talking about PCVR dumbass
>>724875164>your far more likely to meet unsupervised children playing on questpromise?
>>724873375VR has already done its job of being a more immersive alternative to a triple screen setup for sim racing, everything else is just icing on the cake.
>>724874525This "good for masturbating only" thing always sounds like a huge fucking meme. A 3DPD swinging her tits in my face is nice the first time, but I don't ever feel like going back to it over just leaning back and looking up old fashioned loli femdom.4k hours in SteamVR btw
novelty wears off pretty fast
Too expensive to buy in, not enough real video games, and at least three different controller types to develop for makes it hard to overcome the initial investment to develop real games in the first place VS any asshole with a keyboard and mouse can shit out a metroidvania with generic gamepad support
>>724873375Even wireless ones have a mental barrier to set up, controls still suck too and have stagnated. Unfortunately the answer is probably bespoke peripherals and haptics which are expensive, take up space, and are a pain to set up. The best VR experience I ever had was at this place in disney world where the experience was mapped to a specific set you walked around with props you could touch. That felt like the future but I think it already closed.
