All of the balance changes are too heavy handed, aside from pages which don't feel like they got enough. Crossbowman is gonna mog hunters, bandit is gonna mog sins, F/P is gonna mog I/L and maybe even clerics, fighter is gonna mog spearman. On the whole the balance seems a bit more even insofar as each class and job path feels closer in power level than in the original game's 2nd job lineup, but the way that they just kinda swapped which job path is the better option is kinda dumb.

Which is RS2, a version of RS that was finished, done with, no need to add more. It was the one a lot of people wanted to play, so they revived it, and added more content, balanced things, just continued RS as if the new one never existed. This, is OSMS. What if Maple just never had Big Bang and Maple just kept going. I think that's the approach they were aiming for. So class balances is normal, skill changes are normal, new areas are required. We might get new bosses even! Be happy that Classic isn't gonna be a game that you play for a month and then quit because you ran out of content.

>>724927680I'd say the core idea behind classic maplestory is the slow leveling that is this mmo's "endless playtime". It was also used as a chat room. There is bossing, but on release probably not so much and even then it has usually only been couple of bosses so nothing too exciting. There are some party quests and will probably be another one in the new content such as a new boss aswell. You can also just set goals to farm money, gear, merch, nx hoe and so on.I do think the leveling up process is just the core and everything else kind of revolves around it to some extent.

>>724940867It's hard to say just how much they are adjusting things and numbers. They could adjust a ton of numbes related to combat. However the one bonus swords still have which was also a reason why they were always picked is attack speed. As long as swords have faster attack speed compared to axes/blunts you will benefit from that aswell, not just the accuracy. Not sure if they are changing the stupid slash/poke damage difference which could also affect this directly.

Crossbowman was always the best classic job. Cheap as fuck weapons and scrolls and amazing damage. Iron Arrow is best mobbing skill of all 2nd jobs.
