Played it a ton during EA. 1.0 came out and the last stage was atrocious and ran counter intuitively to how the whole rest of the game was designed. Returns came out not too late after and I never looked back

I actually got back to it after they unfucked Seekers of the Storm. I wish Survivors of the Void would get a similar treatment because outside of the stage 2 map and the painfully underused void items (also the void end route) it is an absolute fucking piece of shit that the more I play the game the more I hate.

If you play Risk of Rain for an hour you've played it for 500 hoursIt is the samey-est game I've ever played. You hold W through xboxhueg maps opening whatever dirty chests you find and taking what you get. Every so often, you hit a jackpot of your character's BIS item on a 3D Printer and you make 10 of themthen you repeat that until you get oneshot 35 minutes later by a ridiculous damage sponge jellyfish or lizard and repeat. what are the best mods to try out? i've played only vanilla and for a couple hours at best.
I've had tons of fun playing with friends with around a hundred mods, but you can only squeeze so much fun out of one game. it was a great time and a big improvement on ror1, but hopoo sold out and gearbox is only halfway competent on the best of days. I'd eagerly await a sequel but no one will make one worth playing
