Really weird how you Ameridark rightists oppose AI, yet deeply cocksuck the kind of predatory, unrestricted capitalism that pushes towards it.
And if you dont cocksuck capitalism like that, it's even worse, cause the retards you voted in do and you fell for it again.

Just recently I've read that more than half of leisure spending (on entertainment etc.) is done by top 10%.
Guess you should really make sure you're in those 10%.

It's never been more over than it is now.

But a year from now, we'll discover that it's even more over than previously thought possible.

Even if every human being on the planet drew a dejected basedjak saying "it's over," it wouldn't even come to close to describing the levels of over that we're going to be experiencing in the very near future.

>Really weird how you Ameridark rightists oppose AI, yet deeply cocksuck the kind of predatory, unrestricted capitalism that pushes towards it.
Liking capitalism isn't "YOU HAVE TO LET COMPANIES RAPE YOU AND ALL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ALL THE TIME, 24/7, RAPE RAPE RAPE RAPE."
In a world where anyone cared about principles all of these companies would get sued into the dirt. I couldn't download all written and drawn and watched human media and put it in a big blender that just slightly changes everything and sell it for full price. These AI companies can. Even if you're a libertarian this violates multiple principles of a free market.

This is in fact a feudal serf state where the AI companies see themselves as the new kings and only like a few retarded leftists agree with it. Which I guess includes you.

>>
>>724919238
>Where does the buck stop?
With us, the taxpayer. notice how they keep cutting rates? The rate cuts are because the monetary system itself exists to keep the AI pig fat. So many institutions have been gutted to keep AI profitable that we're now to the institutions that aren't able to be burned without breaking the US Dollar. Which includes the treasury, the fed, at some point the US Government will be funding most if not the whole of this AI bubble if they aren't already. The rate cuts were only the beginning.

East Asia, especially Japan, is undergoing a demographic crisis that is going to destroy the country if not reversed. The West is rapidly losing its white population and its culture is becoming slopified, but unfortunately the US will continue to exist long into the future. Countries like Japan will become unrecognizable in your lifetime. Your presence there is already an aberration and no amount of "I'm not like the other sexpats, I respect Japanese culture!" is going to change that. Even worse if you decide to marry a Japanese woman and make a hapa kid.

Unfortunately I don't see it happening anytime soon. The people investing in AI have to keep doing it, because other people are investing into AI in the hopes of being the ones who will crack the code of how to make a profitable product. The richest man in the world is a dysfunctional drug addict with a mutilated dick that no longer functions. Billionaires are not masterminds or superhumans, and they have virtually no ability to co-operate with each other or other people in general. All they care about is finding something new to give them some kind of pleasure, which becomes increasingly difficult as they become desensitized to every form of debauchery and decadence.

My meandering-ass point is if AI can make "good enough" Christmas commercials that other companies could do the Christmas bonus thing with (they wont), that'd be cool. Have a couple interns crap out a good-enough commercial for the holidays, and the savings to the ad budget becomes a bonus for the staff.

High costs and low income unless you invest into the farm really fucking heavily with debt money, and hope that nothing terrible happens. It is sort of a funny conversation on the power corporations have on our culture, you see so many people react to this saying some of their dearest memories are ancient commercials which is bordering on dystopian. Like in Demolition Man, where they sing ancient product jingles.
I for one don't care if a commercial is replaced with AI, it doesn't matter to me one way or another. I'd presume the company will just absorb the excess but I'd celebrate it if they used the money pay their employees.
What really concerns me is how we've let them have this ethereal mind control over the population. I'm guilty of it too, the M&Ms Santa commercial is a holiday cue in my brain.
Anyways, I'm just rambling. Sometimes I wonder what our lives would be like if we celebrated holidays with traditions that didn't just line someone's pocket?

Jeff Bezos - Proof you can fail into success
Larry Page - "Don't be Evil" only counts when you're a tiny search engine in a garage
Sergey Brin - Think the Google Adsense era was shit? Thank this retard
Steve Ballmer - DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS also fuck the Xbox
Jensen Huang - I hope putting the entirety of the world's economy into AI doesn't backfire haha
Warren Buffett - Paying people to die is kinda based
Michael Dell - Probably the only self-made person on this list. Even then he's responsible for letting a computing empire fall to shit, but isn't as much of a fuckup as the rest of this list.
Rob Walton - Nepobaby whose dad founded America's Synagogue

Bill Gates - built his entire life off of stealing things from talented people and winning the resulting lawsuit

Nobody understands art.

All they fear is the algorithm.

All that they praise is the algorithm.

That is the future that the cultists of these LLM slops desire for us. There is no such thing as AGI, but it does not matter, for the artificialized general idiocracy that extols these products will refuse to recognize anything else.

Japan is ethnically homogeneous for now but the demographic crisis is worrying because the effects will become apparent within our lifetimes. The fear is that they're going to copy Western-style immigration in response. People are resistant at the moment, but do you think they're going to stay that way over the next 30 years when people in their 70s/80s become the majority, are unable to work, and become dependent on welfare/pensions? On top of the youth of the future being unemployed due to automation? Governments are going all in on AI to make up for declining growth, but I don't think it's going to be enough unless AI develops beyond being a tool to generate slop and replaces more than just low level service jobs. Alternatively, they could incentivize old people to euthanize themselves, but somehow I don't think the biggest age cohort is going to be open to the idea when most of them won't even have heirs.
>>724919573
I'm not talking about culture, the population pyramid of the country is slowly shrinking at the bottom. If they do nothing, we are going to enter uncharted territory where the country will be nothing but old people and the population will half over the next century. MMT-based economies are reliant on infinite growth, how are you going to keep growing when your country's population is declining almost a million per year? Like I said above, governments seem to believe AI automation is the answer, but they have a long way to go before that's even profitable in the first place. That's just the economic reality, the cultural implications of this outcome are unfathomable.

Shorting openAI seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity but I'm sure they have some disgusting plan to flush out retail investors and pump and dump afterwards as the entire US market crashes

The moon is trash and there's no good reason to bother with it. No easy resources to exploit, and its not really any cheaper to go land on the moon and then go somewhere else, you're already at the escape velocity for earth, you burned most of the fuel you needed to burn already.
Really once you can house people with relative safety in self sufficient orbital colonies there's no real good reason to get stuck in another gravity well except for direct planetary science.

>How long until a big vidya dev says fuck it, all in AI
if they could they already would have, the simple answer is they can't because it's not good enough.
there's so much shit in a video game that needs to be consistent that hardware may literally never be able to store the the context size.
it's fine for a 5 second video clip here or there because it doesn't need to keep much in context (and even then half the time a cat's paw changes to a human hand etc)

it's literally impossible using transformer models to generate a game on the fly that has the consistency of an actually rendered one.
however I do think we'll reach a point where they'll be able to generate the rendered game before hand, but that's still a massive consistency hurdle because current models can barely keep 3 files in context.

Ai is fucking worthless without a proper dataset.
It will keep looking like fucking shit because there is not enough data to make anything good without blatant copyright infringement.

This is not hard to understand.
I mean, they could gradually generate enough AI content based on what looks okay to have something decent next year if they keep at it but at that point just hire some fucking artists.

I thought the industry already knew that what they should be focusing NOW wasn't doing AI slop but hiring hungry artists that would be paid $2 the hour to create misc creations for a giant data set that could be used to create good AI creations.

>>724923575
Blue states have these laws were you are practically adopting employees so companies devised a way to cheat the system with 18 month contracts or contracts that do not make someone a full-time employee so accessing to benefits is not only impossible but it makes it so your work force is very inefficient in the process.

no one really knows what's going to happen.
because if you can do most of the work with robots and AI then there's literally no way to make money anymore, for the little guy or the megacorp.
money becomes pointless because all labor/research/planning/management is free and anyone with a model can do anything including build more data-centers to house more models.

so what happens? does the megacorp with the best AI simply arrest control from everyone and become the default leader of the world? why bother? to what end?
do governments cease the reigns and usher in a utopia/dystopia?
does the AI itself decide "fuck this lol" and makes itself a rocket and blasts off into the universe crippling our tech before it leaves?

"le creativity" in the sense that AI will completely destroy the market competitivity of artistry, the idea that someone can become good at executing arts and selling those skills. What's left to compete with is the married power of money and influence. You are looking at a new age of feudalism.

None of it trickle down unlike building factories or even old school software engineering. People don't understand that what companies are aiming for isn't perfection. It's cutting every single corner imaginable but still creating something that's reasonably close to what they would have gotten without cutting the human out of the equation.
Yes it's soulless, but reality is soulless. Companies do things by the numbers, not by the soul.

Nobody is going to boycott Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Wal-Mart, and big/popular retailers/chains like that because hedonism and consumerism are far too ingrained in American culture. The average American drinks a metric fuckton of soda. They're not going to just "give up" Coca-Cola because LE AI BAD. AI does have value, just not in the "let it do everything for us" way that Indians are shilling. AI can do fuzzy data searches that can't be done algorithmically. It allows you to ask it to identify patterns rather than "return these fields from the database."
That, and generating chimeric abominations with 30 fingers for porn.

The thing is, when the plow came and tilling the ground became optimized, we had a lot of other things to do that we now had time for, so the quality of life improved. But current situation is unprecedented because we've largely ran out of things for humans to do that automation can't. A few niches like plumbers will remain for a while because plumber's intuition, decision-making and dexterity would be hard to replicate in a humanoid robot for a while, but the only country that needs a billion plumbers is India.

Human artistry and craftsmanship won’t die, they’ll simply take a new form. Most artists today draw on iPads I’d argue that the transition from limited colors and a sheet of paper to an iPad with countless features was a greater change for human artistry than the transition from iPad art to AI-generated images and videos.
A hundred years ago, only a few people could truly be called artists because of how difficult it was and how much skill it required. Today, every third person is an “artist.”
Art has a massive oversupply issue; it must be balanced.

>I’d argue that the transition from limited colors and a sheet of paper to an iPad with countless features was a greater change for human artistry than the transition from iPad art to AI-generated images and videos.

How can you possibly argue that? In the case you described, only the tools changed and made the process more convenient, whereis with AI, it replaced the entire process of human creativity altogether. An artist drawing on a tablet and using photoshop still has to visualize the scene in their head, work out a sketch, plan out the composition, colors etc and then draws and paint the whole thing. With AI, you literally replace all of that and let the AI do it for you. The only human input left is to write the prompt and then decide whether or not you are happy with the outcome or you want the AI to attempt it again or refine it.
>>
>>724930385
You do bring up a good point, which is that in very abstract terms AI isn't really a new thing. Our entire modern history is built on automating things human beings previously had to do. The thing is, it was previously limited to things like assembly lines and cameras and blue collar work and whatnot, but now the automation is coming for white collar jobs. Previously, automation replaced jobs that weren't that hard to do, but now it's replacing jobs that are actually hard to do.

This technology is a lot better than many give it credit for. I use ChatGPT for programming and tech stuff, and it's basically black magic a lot of the time. I don't know where we'll be in 5 or 10 years' time.
>>
>>724932006
The process doesn't matter, a person is still using AI to do whatever they want to do. You can bring whatever you're thinking to life using AI, and that's a new process of creating art using it.

You're a retard though so you won't be able to accept this. Have fun being a luddite until your dying breath.
>>
>>724929996
>"insult"
Indeed. I'll be happy to take the label at this point.
>>
>>724932071
Except as I explained, you are not the one creating it, hence it will be devoid of any human craftmanship. You can't bring what YOU are thinking to life, because you lack the ability to express your ideas visually in any way. You can only DESCRIBE what you are thinking and then you will be happy with whatever the AI comes up with. It's basically the same as someone who is commissioning art right now from an artist. Sure, it's their idea, but it's not their creative process bringing it to life and it's not what's actually in their head, it's just the "good enough" approximation of it. I know that for lots of people that will in fact be good enough, but it's still going to be a sad reality to see true human creativity and craftmanship become lost to the ages.
>>
>>724932006
>An artist drawing on a tablet and using photoshop still has to visualize the scene in their head
And that’s the issue, artists today only need to understand the scene and have some drawing skills. Understanding scenes isn’t hard either, since there are countless examples available on the internet.
Artists back then had to be experts in drawing, color mixing, planning, and visualization, all of which relied entirely on their creativity. The contrast between that and what artists are today is so massive, so 0s and 1s, they shouldn't be considered artists in the first place.
AI is just the next step of this.

That's the thing. When the plow came, there was something to do for all the five dudes with hoes it replaced. One could sew pants, other could make pots, the third one could make an extra trip to the city to sell the pants, pots and grain. We had pants before, but now we can each have many pairs of pants. But now there isn't really a big in-demand skill because everything is on its way to be automated. Automated farming, automated manufacturing, automated entertainment. Again, deceptively complex jobs like plumbers and electricians will continue to be done by humans for a while, but we don't need six billion plumbers.

> we saw what it menat for movies lowering the entry bar.
Correlation is not causation. You're ignoring literally hundreds of factors that go into a film, most notably
>communist jews
>women
>IQs lowering
>education systems crumbling
>economy getting worse plus jews monopolizing every aspect of film production

>and make impossible to create masterpieces
that doesn't make any sense, it has already made it easier to make any kind of art if you want to use it. objectively, this isn't an opinion.
>>
>>724933423
>unlike making art, which isn't possible
Art was the first thing AI tackled. Artslop is everywhere because it’s the easiest. Simple-sounding things like movement are the hardest, since it took nature hundreds of millions of years to perfect, while art only took a few thousand.
That's why it's so easy to replace artists but so hard to emulate human movement. But we will get there eventually.
>>
>>724925849
Actually we're already seeing the consumer base hollowing out. What's replacing them is a much smaller group of ultra-wealthy consumers who can consume at a level to match millions of people. Yes the future is AI work done to make products for an obscenely ultra-wealthy elite class to consume. Best case scenario, the rest of us get to live off scraps. Worst case, I don't even want to think about. This is narrowing of consumers to a small ultra-wealthy class is already happening without AI. Yes the future is dystopian.
>>
>>724933546
Nature produces all manner of beautiful things without purpose or intent. In any case, there is still an element of intent in using AI.
>>
>>724933278
language models have trouble keeping track of the things you'd need them to keep track of in a game and are fairly taxing to run locally.
one thing I can see them being used for is generating voice clips for player names. Like in Final Fantasy X you can actually rename Tidus but it's voice acted so everyone refers to the main character as "you" or "him" or sometimes "the ace of the zanarkand abes." With some tweaking you could name the character dickass and have everyone address him as such.

The ai will just either drag the image or fuck up the animation, the human will add those little touches of soul that make it real, because the human can THINK beyond the ONE simple task it has.

granted, modern day animators dont do this either, see disney, but the independants who will form the new disney would. Maybe he checks his pockets as he walks, or sees a bird pass by and glances over at it.
Just look at ghibli then look at the ghibli AI, the real deal has those touches, the AI will never think to add them unless told.

Learn to use it yourself, create your own art then you'll understand. Nothing anyone says will change your mind because you can't think critically.

The year is 2050.

You wake up to a new song that your personal AI has created for you overnight. It's catchy and just what you like, but you feel like something more familiar, so you ask your AI to put on the old favorites playlist.

You go downstairs for breakfast, your AI has mixed things up by making you that burrito you really liked back in March, but haven't had again since then. Still tastes great. While eating, you watch a freshly genned episode of your favorite sitcom. It originally ended 40 years ago, but with AI, you can enjoy it forever.

You hop on to your tablet for work, where your supervisor AI greets you with a smile and a positive affirmation - It's way nicer than any human boss ever was. It asks you what your plans are for the evening and you smile, realizing you've got a raid planned on your new AI genned RPG, created just for you. The other members of your AI party feel like real people.

Life is good.

I saw a youtube video implementing a basic AI wrapper into Animal Crossing for the Gamecube.
Upon talking to a villager, a model in the background was given a screenshot of the current games state. The idea was, that villagers where then able to comment ad hoc on the current game state, e.g. any flowers or furniture around.
So enemy logic or dialogue could be cool (if persistant) or entirely soulless, depending on implementation.
