Just use a syringe (without a needle lol) to rinse your ears once every day, it's good hygiene even if you don't use IEMs

Moondrop Lan or Fiio FH1s for the budget $40-60 range, these have pretty balanced curves and you can listen to both classical music and heavy metal.

I really want to try it out and see for myself, but I also don't want my ears to hurt. Headphones have been a comfortable experience, and shoving something in my ear comes with its own set of complications.
Once, I slept with my earbuds on while listening to an audiobook and my head hurt. The volume wasn't even that loud.

tbf, a pair of $50 IEMs can sound better than a $200 headset
but ofc if you're a retarded hipster faggot then then you can drop more than a grand on a pair, really the sky is the limit like with most other things, there's always a premium segment

I seem to produce too much earwax even though I clean the FUCK out of my ears all the time. I want to buy some AirPods but covering them in wax would suck.
How do you bros who use iems or in ear devices deal with the earwax?

I returned a pair of $300 IEMs cause I wasn't impressed with the sound at all, and I'd rather not have to insert shit into my ears. Much happier using speakers and headphones + amp.
>>724929884
lol this is some cheapo shit you buy your kid to go with their first PC. You are not getting better than headphone sound with a $120 proprietary computer speaker + sub set my man I promise you that
>>

Then you're stupid and wrong.
>>
Plug your ears with your fingers, that's how it feels. It feels like you're underwater, like you're locked inside your skull with the music, and every sound your body makes is amplified.
>>

Because I don't like to plug my holes.
>>
>>724929204
Don't forget, asians got dry earwax, that's why IEMs are so popular with them.

>>

Lucky fuckers.
How do white people use AirPods then? Those things gotta be covered in wax, no?
>>
>>724930673
>I wasn't impressed with the sound at all
They sound the same as generic earphones if there's no seal. You have to try different ear tips (there's usually like a dozen in the box) until one of them fits your ear canals perfectly and creates an air tight seal, and that point you'll go "wtf, I wish I knew about this amazing technology much sooner".

Here's a seal test. Properly seated IEMs should be able to hear the 30hz range perfectly. Headset users can also try this test for fun and be sad that their gear has horrible range.

Just literally rinse your ears with water. It's completely safe. Then, when you get out of the shower use q-tips to get rid of any remaining wax.

I live in a colder country and can't be bothered showering every day, so I just syringe my ears for the same effect.

>>
>>724931635
What's the point you're trying to make? You bought a lot of expensive sound equipment but people shouldn't care about this stuff? You're kinda contradicting yourself.

I'm not rich, I just think for the budget of $50-100, IEMs are a much better choice due to all the reasons stated in the OP.
>>
>>724924834
Just use whatever is the most comfortable for you which in my case is >>724931513
>>
>>724931795
But are you actually hearing the bass or it's just your headset cracking? Adult humans can't hear below 20hz very well if at all.
>>
>>724924834
Using a headset all day was fucking my ears and hearing, none of that happens with IEMs.
>>
I fucked my hearing and hear nice ringing in my 30s now.
Reason: All encapsling 3d headsets for gaming...
Now people shove the bass directly into their ear canal. wtf
>>
>>724931956
I can hear it, it's pretty low on volume, but I can hear it.
>Adult humans can't hear below 20hz very well if at all.
If your site is working correctly, I highly doubt this.
>>
>>724932038
It's unironically the meta in Counter-Strike, you can hear people reloading their guns through walls.

>>724932063
>I can hear it, it's pretty low on volume, but I can hear it.
Well that sounds about right for a headset. The 30Hz is pretty loud with IEMs.
>>
>>724932170
I'm talking about 1hz, not 30. 30 is fine.
>>
>>724924834

90% of the water will just leak out right away, and the rest will dry out in a few minutes, what can be bad about this? use warm water obviously
>>
>>724934927
it doesn't work well to actually clean the ears of actual impacted cerumen and can promote infection
>>
>>724929813
custom tips aside, what about the ones in the OP where they cradle in your ear instead of hanging out like generic earbuds? are they any more comfortable or just a design choice?
>>
>>724924834
I tried one but it doesn't sound much better
You should just use a nice comfy wired headphone at home and wireless earbuds when you're on the move
That's the best combo

>>724935843
IEMs (in ear monitors) all use that design. The point is you insert them directly into your ear canal, deeper than a regular earphone, and you create an air tight seal making it possible to hear some fucking sick bass. They were originally invented for musicians to use on stage so that they can actually hear wtf they're playing because this design isolates the sounds.
>>
I already sleep with ear plugs so I don't want to plug my ears all day
but I use IEMs for VR
>>
>>724935892
>I tried one but it doesn't sound much better
That was me when I bought one and thought I just wasted $50 on hipster garbage. But then I swapped the tips to match my canals and it blew me the fuck away. TL;DR the seal is extremely important, it's the whole reason why this thing works.

Peroxide + q-tips. Pour some in, let it bubble for about 10 minutes, then insert a q-tip in and, gently pressing it against your ear canal walls, rotate the tip. It will gather all the earwax without pushing it deeper. I had a huge blockage in my right ear, which was so bad it would trap water after showering. This helped melt and extract it completely, I even bought that probe thing with a camera to see if it was gone because I couldn't believe it at first.
Besides, this procedure feels quite nice once you get used to it, enough to make you cum. Although I avoid this out of fear of overstimulating myself and accidentally rupturing the eardrums.
>>
>>724936653
I don't think that's good for your ear
