The Pokemon games are the worst the system has to offer. I'm not going to act like the 3DS catalog is PS2/SNES tier or anything, but it's selection is fairly decent, if not pretty good.

Kid Icarus Uprising.

Yeah, they're not that great. The game desperately needed the circle pad pro. That being said, the game is still lots of fun if you don't have the wrists of a 1950s housewife (actually, that's an insult to 1950s housewives).
It's not the best video game of all time, but it's one of my personal favorites. The on-rails Space Harrier sections can be quite intense. Having such precise control over your aim really adds a sense of desperation when targeting all the enemies passing by. It's especially enjoyable when playing the game above 5.0 difficulty.
On-foot mode is also pretty decent. Combat is simple, but I dont think it needs to be incredibly extravagant; it's not trying to be a mechanically complex character-action game, and that's perfectly okay for the system we're on. Dodging enemy projectiles, dashing across the maps, going for perfect runs, it's all great stuff. Some might complain that the stages are too linear, but with the sort of gameplay you're dealing with when playing Uprising, I think the nice and eloquently designed levels work more than fine enough.
Outside of the core gameplay loops, the game has tons of replayability. The goal boards give players and incentive to replay chapters, idols are pure ludo, and the multilayer was better than sex. I have no idea if tranny modders have revived the online components for Uprising yet, but they'll probably get around to it eventually.
All in all, it's a solid game. It's not a masterpiece, but I'd hardly call it a bad game. Sometimes a decent romp is all you need.
Anyways, kill niggers-

has anyone else's 3d effect stopped working on their 3ds? I have two original model 3dses and for the second one I bought the 3d effect is way weaker and doesn't look as good as my first, it looks totally different infact. Did they perhaps update the 3d on later OG models? My first 3ds I bought brand new in 2011 and the second one I bought second hand but it might be manufactured earlier than 2011.
Kind of annoying because I like the 3d effect in some games.

The one bad thing about Uprising I'll absolutely concede too is the god awful Reddit-tier dialog. It's not fucking good. At all. It would be one thing if it was just a generic/bad Anime script, but it somehow manages to be worse than just crappy Anime dialog. It's the most early 2010s "haha we reference vidya gayme guyz lul so random" dogshit ever. I don't know if this is only an issue with the english localization (one of those localizer-specials), or the script was always that insufferable.
