We need something like Black Mesa for this game
>>724933390There is already revision and it's awful just like black mesa. I stick with the original.
Why the fuck are they announcing this game on PlayStation's thing, and then around the same time they release an upscaled version of the PS2 port, which actually looks better than this slop?I'm playing it, and it's awesome.
>>724933390It needs a proper RTX implementation and that's it
>>724933529Black Mesa is good though.
>>724934108this
>>724933529Oh look! Another puritan!
>>724934239Just try the fucking game. You might see how games before didn't suck.
>>724933529Anyone who hates Black Mesa is a retard. Go be retarded somewhere else.
Black Mesa is shit. If you want a refreshed faithful HL1, play MMOD. Something like that would be cool for Deus Ex. Something that makes the gunplay good.
>>724933904I always forget that they essentially remade Deus Ex in 2002 for PS2;>new engine>mocap and new models>whole level redesignCrazy how back then it was just a casual thing develops did for conviniece.>hey we just remade deus ex in a year for you guys enjoy! If it was today they'd make such a big deal over it and drag in out as they market it as God's gift to Earth, and it would take 10 years to do.
>>724934332>Black Mesa is shit.It has better gameplay than Shit Life 2. K Y yourself.
>>724933390No we don't.
>>724934332I prefer BHL for HL1.There is GMDX for Deus Ex, I just disable the stamina mechanic and the rest is great.
>NOOO I WANNA BE WITH THE COOL MILLENIALS AND GEN-X AND BOOMERS BUT THE GAME IS SO HECKING CLUNKY CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE IT MORE LIKE SUBWAY SURFERS AND FORTNITE????why are zoomies like this?
>>724934390fpbp
>>724933390No, thanks. Go make a new game, Aspyr employee.
https://frvr.com/blog/deus-ex-art-director-reacts-to-controversial-remaster-oh-what-the-fk-no-this-did-not-need-to-happen/>Deus Ex art director reacts to controversial remaster – “oh, what the f**k. No. This did not need to happen”
>>724934940This should stop
>>724933390Black Mesa is shit. Kill yourself.
question: what time of the year do you think it's the best to replay Deus Ex? I don't think of it as a seasonal game, just curious if someone does. kind of like how most people replay Max Payne in December/January.
>>724935112>stratigies
>>724935316summer nights only
>>724933390You can't make a black mesa version of deus ex because the whole soul and charm of the game is that it was janky the way it was, replacing it all with ultra HD animations and textures butchers it all and it wouldnt be deus ex anymore.
>>724934379>K Y yourself.> Kill Your yourselfOf course, the average intelligence of BMS players.
>>724933390Black Mesa was alright for what it is, but I much prefer the original. They fucked with too many things in BM and the end result was worse but zoomers adore it for the graphics. It's like a Hollywood adaption, with any and all subtlety thrown out the window. Also, its version of Xen was an utter slog and it stole most of its ideas from HL2 and the episodes.
>>724934108>>724934169BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
>>724934379>It has better gameplay than Shit Life 2
>>724934108>>724934303BM Xen is unironically one of the most beautiful locations I've seen in a video game.
>>724934072If Surreal98 ever actually comes out, we'll have it.
>>724933390>We needI don't need anything, of I want to play Deis Ex i'll just fire the original and at most install some mods on top of itFuck your shitty demasters
>>724934339What's that semicolon doing there?
>>724940697>ill just install the original then install a bunch of shit that doesnt make it the originalyou should be the first in line to support a remaster you fucking dumbass
>>724940905
>>724940905Mods could also be just bugfixes and total overhauls
>>724934940I thought we didnt care about opinions of original devs after Halo CE art director endorsed the remake? Anyway, the fans love it and thats all that matters.
>>724933390I'm gonna use the opportunity to shill TNM
>>724933390>DEMAKE>DEMASTER>DEFORGED>DEGENDARY EDITION>DEFECTIVE EDITION>DERELEASE>DEIMAGINING>DEBOOTfuck off, make something new instead of raping dead horses
>make a beautiful singleplayer shooter >instead of putting your honed skills to use with another banger make a shitty online swat shootan destined to failwhy?
>>724943535Based. New update just came out adding a lot of content. Also I appear in it as a very minor character
>>724934379>>Black Mesa is shit.It is though. The devs simply don't realize the spirit of Half-Life. It's a linear neutered fireworks show that retards venerate simply because muh graphics. Plus Xen is absolutely atrocious visually.
>>724944102>Also I appear in it as a very minor characterAnon. YOU'RE a very minor character.
>>724944102[ ! ]
>>724943921They can't. The west is creatively and intellectually bankrupt.
>>724944229I'm not super famous no. At most you might have seen someone bring me up in passing here
>>724933529Revision isn't like Black Mesa.Revision is more like Half Life:Source, it's the same but just crappier.Black Mesa is a full remake. I agree revision sucks.
>>724943535Redpill me on TNM.
>>724933390Copyright exists to censor ideas that undermine government, and at it's current scale, the government that it serves is the UN, so a work that explicitly dives into conspiracy theories about the UN can't be allowed to be successful if it isn't repeatedly watered down. The government will explicitly lean on publishers of established culture to avoid rocking the boat, much like how Animal Farm could not be published to avoid antagonizing the Soviets.>>724940905>Re-release with partially remade assets made by some terrible outsourcing studio that needs to shart the game out ASAP for no moneyVs.>Original release with remade assets and fixes picked from what you consider to be the best of the best, produced by people who do not value their time at all and who have been working on the game for up to 25 yearsIf the modding tools are powerful enough, then official remakes are entirely superfluous, because the original can be maintained with updated assets.
>>724944875Revision is good, it solves several issues with the level design (such as the fact pure 100% stealth builds were severely penalized in a few areas).
>>724944983It's got some damn good level design, music and atmosphere. Writing is fine, nothing special
>>724944983>The Nameless Mod 2.0>the mod of all mods>originally released 2009, still receiving content updates (and minor bugfixes)>100% meta, story revolves around old deus ex forums presented ingame as the city>starring its community members as characters>massive (for dx standards) open world hub with a couple of linear levels attached>2 main plotlines branching out and back into a fallout style ending where every major choice matters>bunch of optional quests>unique weapons, collectibles, extra little story stuff to be found>overhauled augmentations (i.e. power recirculator is now passive)i jumped into it avoiding spoilers and everything above sparked a curiosity i haven't felt since long time ago
>>724945604>100% meta, story revolves around old deus ex forums presented ingame as the cityIs it worth playing if you know nothing about old deus ex forums?
>>724945257Sounds good.>>724946058Seconding this. I think I've seen people say it doesn't matter too much.
>>724946058Yeah sure. The game explains basically everything you might get confused about
>>724933390>avoid antagonizing the Soviets. We have always been at war with Eurasia.Your only enemies are the ones who rule over you.
