my theory is that in the original draft instead of misaki, seori was accompanied by tyran who then kills her. and it would had been tyran that seori gave the magatama so the epic fanservice ryu boss was actually gonna be tyran vs yakumo duking it out who gets to be the master ninja of raven clan wielding the dark dragon sword. no idea how ryu fits into this, maybe he had a separate mini campaign and they just shoehorned him into the main story because fans were freaking out over the sidelining.

If Yakumo had failed Seori would have died for nothing had the seals and dark dragon's soul would have returned, Ryu could probably temporary kill it like usual but it would just mean leaving the world in a worse state than before.

Kagachi was cool, but he felt kind of pointless. He fufills the exact same function in the story that Ryu does. He could have basically not been in the game and everything would play out the exakt same way

trying to emulate NGB and NGII on linux, the former works well out the box but the latter is a bit funky. at first the character models wouldn't move except for their eyes and equipment, but I just had to toggle a flag in the settings to get it to work. but the other problem is that it freezes every few minutes and I have to alt+f4, which compared to the first issue doesn't seem to be a thing at all when I look it up on google.anyone tried running these before? also is there a way to get master ninja from the get-go for both games?
