The Oozes in this game is one of the of most poorly retarded design things I've ever seen in a video game. I hope the developers of this game get the living shit kicked out of them for this shit

>Takes two in game months to kills a few oozes

I love this game but yeah it's fucking stupid

Are you trying to hit them with physical damage? Oozes are always in tight corridors, just use Sparks.

This game is a poorly made piece of shit that requires abusive cheating tactics

Filtered and retarded.

I knew elements damage them but I only have been focusing of fire spells. I had no idea I was supposed to me an air mage

None of the 3 I got work on them.

Honestly I think I'll just redo my party build and start over or just skip to M&M7 because I'm getting pissed off and frustrated with my first playthrough. I think I fucked up

My party
Fighter who I have zero idea into what to build him into because melee sucks and puts my weaker mages at risk

An archer who is trained in bows disarm traps and perception. I kinda wish I just got a fighter with a bow as secondary which may have maybe made melee better

Mage who is focused on fire magic which I'm kind of regretting because air is supposed to be the best apparently and you can't go expert into water until really far down the line

And a body cleric with some spirit training

Shit just hasn't been working for me in this game and maybe I have to redo my party but I don't want to go through all that repetitive grind again.

I'm at level 7 and cleared out of the Dungeons in the first map but can barely get my foot in the door for the ironfist dungeons
>>
>>724943781
Also I'm not too big on how I distributed my character creation attributes. And I'm kind of hating how you gain higher attributes in the game (min max trade off black potions, stressful timed praying shrines, and the odd point or two from rare barrels). Do you fet enough attributes points in this game to make a difference?

>or just skip to M&M7
MM7 has slightly tougher combat and much more restrictive character building, also much later access to travel utility spells (gating them behind 2nd promotion)
>>
>>724943781
Easiest way to play is just exploiting that magic is far superior to fighting. Best teams are usually like four sorcerers or something. You can easily find guides on how to exploit the advantage.

I had the exact same party setup as you on my first playtrough and i beat the game easy.
>air is supposed to be the best apparently
Says who? Fly and starburst are nice i guess. But fireball and meteor shower are more mana efficient. You should get minimum stats to master all schools anyway.
>can barely get my foot in the door for the ironfist dungeons
Dungeons can be brutal early game. I'd skip them and explore the overworld more.

You're supposed to do one guy as a self insert then the rest are girls.
>>
>>724949760
That was a thing in 8 where you only create the MC and hire the rest of the party members. In 6 you generate all four at the start.

I remember back in the day the old timers didn't seem to like 8 as much as 6 and 7. But it was my first M&M game and will always have a special place in my heart. Plus, it's still one of the good ol' M&Ms, 9 and whatever the fuck followed were disastrous in comparison even to 8. I still played through 9, it's so bad it's good kind of experience.
>>
>>724943781
It took me a few tries to get into it as well, you'll get it eventually.
>>
>>724945050
MM7 I actually found easier than MM6.
There were a bunch of go to X town fetch quests that made you level up faster and travel between towns was easier because there were less enemies near the road.
>>
>>724943781
If you want 4 unique classes, then in MM6 you can't go wrong with Knight/Cleric/Druid/Sorc.

In MM6 magic reigns supreme because there's no mastery limits and no Armsmaster like in the later games. Knight is mostly there to serve as an HP pinata that survives when your casters fall over (+shared life fodder), and dumping grounds for misc skills like repair and disarm traps.

Mind and Earth magic are kind of skippable altogether, or ok to limit to lv4/expert. Pump all the other schools to master between all your casters. Later you'll get light/dark too and both are amazing.

Right after starting the game you should get lv1 learning, merchant and bow on everyone because it only costs money (not skill points for lv1) and gives game-long benefits. Don't actually level them though, points are better spent elsewhere. You can level bow if you really want, but it's honestly not the best use of points.

Diplomacy skill is a complete waste and best NPC hireling is Scholar - lets you completely skip identify item skill. Banker is close second.
Some skills are ok to keep at Expert because you've already grabbed their biggest benefit. Like Dagger, Light Armor, Shield.
>>
>>724943781
>cleared out of the Dungeons in the first map
The caves or goblinwatch? I'd definitely recommend the latter because it gives a ton of money.
>>
I did one party that was knight/cleric/archer/sorcerer.
I did a second party that was 2 clerics/2 sorcerers and lategame got master dark magic on everyone.
On my third party now with knight/archer/paladin/druid. Basically I got everyone on master melee.
>>
For some of the dungeons you can kite by enemies if you're lucky.
I remember for the Ironfist Baa Temple I just skipped the last part with all the skeletons and clerics and grabbed the quest item and gold and ran for it.
>>
>>724936040
At least oozes don't show up in that many dungeons. For me the most annoying was the blue harpies because of their AOE curse.
>>
>>724940043
So that explains why /v/ has been having threads about this old ass boomer game the past few days
>>
>>724936040
It always triggered my autism for how weird some of the skill distributions were.
>Monk gets armsmaster even though he's supposed to be an unarmed fighter.
>Archer gets spear mastery, which lets you use spears one-handed, but the only thing you can actually put in your off hand is daggers.
>Diplomacy in all 3D games.
>>
>>724953424
No? That VOD is like three years old.
>>
>>724940407
You're supposed to be an everything mage, nigger
Use fire spells then? You have flame arrow, fire bolt, fireball, ring of fire, fire blast, inferno and incinerate.
Hell, fire blast is even better than sparks in a corridor.
Also an archer starts with sparks, and a cleric has spirit arrow and hurt. And you can have elemental enchanted weapons.
>>
>>724952758
My biggest problem with this game's combat is that there is no front or backline like in other party based RPGs or Dungeon Crawlers. So it makes me feel like melee and having a single party member with high HP or AC completely pointless because if you go into to swing at them there's a high chance they'll end up fucking one of your weaker mages instead of other games where you can have your fighters take all the hits. It feels like evening out everyone's defenses is the best way to go. No point in minmaxing defenses for one particular party member
>>
>>724953969
I don't have average to the better fire spells yet though. I got most of the ones that cost up 10 sp per cost
>>
>>724954105
Yeah, there's no tanking here. Like I mentioned, your easiest and cheapest survival strat is having one knight with loadsahealth, which you then spread around to your squishies with the Shared Life spell. But still, keeping that knight sturdy means he'll have more life to share.
>>
>>724954105
isn't there a share HP spell
or was that in 7
>>
>>724940407
Use Fire Aura on your weapons for fighters and spam Sparks in tight corridors.

Multi projectile spells like that and Shrapmetal at point blank are very strong and cost effective.
>>
>>724954105
Honestly, I have no recollection of combat in these games beside casting flight and carpet bombing everything with meteor shower, or blaster rave party, or a four dragon stack scorching everything.
>>
>>724943781
You literally cannot fuck up in this game. You will eventually learn every skill on every character. You actually have the perfect party.

Things to learn on EVERYONE : Archery, Bodybuilding, Meditation, Learning
You will also need at least one of : repair item, identify item, disarm trap, perception, merchant, diplomacy.
Remember you have to select the character with the skill to actually use it.
I put what I consider "RP" weapons and armor on everyone, plus there are endgame gear that go nicely with their classes, but really anyone can learn anything.

Figher : melee doesn't suck at all, you need to level up your weapon of choice's skill to hit and do damage.
Learn : sword, shield, plate armor, bodybuilding

Archer : bows are the most OP thing in the game. Has high dex so perception is good.
Learn : archery, spear, chain armor, wind magic, disarm trap, perception

Sorcerer : the good ol magic boy.
Learn : dagger, staff, leather armor, all elements, identify item, meditation

Cleric : a healer with decent strenght and high personality. Best for merchant and diplomacy.
Learn : Mace, shield, chain armor, all spirit magic, meditation, merchant, diplomacy

Sorcerer and Cleric both learn dark and light magic later on.

>want to have grandmaster in Axe
LMAO fuck you
>>
>>724944017
Black & white potions are for cheesing. You don't have to use them at all. If you do, you can literally get 250 to every stat.

Remember what each color barrel does (red is STR, blue is INT etc). Just focus on the obvious : STR for warrior, DEX for archer, INT for mage, PER for cleric, rest should be dispatched evenly.

Skillpoints are way more important. You should aim to get everyone expert in everything, and then master, these are the really huge upgrades.
>>
>>724955156
Simple tip about melee, master sword first so you get dual wield.
Then pick a weapon like spear/axe that deals more damage the higher your skill with it.
Dual wield with sword in your offhand and spear/axe to get the most damage.
>>
>>724952758
I have no idea what he's talking about, magic is only good for flying and teleporting around. A warrior absolutely fucking shreds, dealing thousands per second. Magic is great for dealing with hordes of weaklings, with stuff like inferno, and buffing. But in the endgame, you'll deal more damage holding S than shooting magic. Hell, even a sorcerer with dual Mordreds might do more damage in melee than with spells.

>Earth magic is skippable
Ok confirmed for bullshit, Mass Distortion is the single most powerful spell in the game. It will wreck bosses (until your warrior gets so powerful you won't really bother with spells anymore)
>>
>>724954582
Yes, share HP is incredible once your warrior starts getting 10 times more HP than the rest. Later on you put it as your quick action, and just hold S and see your team's HP slowly drain. When it gets low enough cast a big heal and top everyone, repeat
>>
>>724950717
Nah, the point of going for a self-insert + harem is that you get to make and decide the personalities and looks of all of them. Presets ruin it.
>>
This game is fun

I used to play Might and Magic VIII like an Elder Scrolls game and just stuck to a single character.
>>
>>724956086
I agree mass distortion is good but there's a lot of enemies with magic immunity.
For me my favorite spell is shrapnel blast.
