>>724951424Basically the game is balanced around you having max resistances, max damage mitigation, max defence, 500 in each stat, and best items for your build. The less of each of that you have, the more difficult the game is. Unless you play Paladin because that guy must always be OP.Also, the way they update their mod and the patch system and balance is pretty much 1:1 with path of exile.You get stackable runes, a bit more runewords that they lifted from Resurrected, you can upgrade set items into higher bases. You get maps and can roll maps in the same way you do with items and maps in poe - cube + map + orb + optional second orb = magic/rare map. You can corrupt maps with worldstone shards. You can corrupt items (much like in poe - you stand much higher chance of bricking aka destroying/making it useless than actually getting something out of it).You have an expanded inventory (double size) on account that you have a dedicated half for charms (and you will fucking need them because they expect you to have that one full and filled up).To be honest, they did change and update a few things, but mostly its the same shit or more of the same shit. They just decided that balance patches like in poe and maps are the way to go, same with drop rates on items. I played the first season for a bit, and then after killing baal in hell gave up on it and it just rots there in data files. I think they are running season 7 or something.

>>724952132I loved it, desu. It's ten thousand times better than vanilla LoD or D2R. In PD2/PoD you can make uniques that were once useless into BiS if you get the right kind of corruption. That adds a whole new layer of depth to the "slot machine" gameplay of Diablo 2 and DRAMATICALLY widens the endgame. 99% of the loot in D2 is garbage-- absolute fucking garbage. And there is a LOT of loot in the game. The PoE-based mods manage to turn all of that useless fucking trash into things worth hanging on to.
I've been playing D2R singleplayer. Enjoying it more than my previous two ladder characters, mostly because I went Sorc this time.The game really shows its age at times, but it's still one of the better ARPGs to play right now imo
