Anyone played this? Is it any good?
Refunded it because it was too immersive and atmospheric for me. Same way I felt about The cafe game with Jill or whatever, and Underrail. I'm too autistic and get sensory overloaded by this type of shit. I don't play games to be immersed.
Yes, I played through it on the hardest difficulty and got a pretty bad end. 10/10, would recommend. Pure SOVL. Just listen to the menu music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbL7C3Ucg_AThis game is more The Witcher than every The Witcher game combined.
For me it's this and Suzerain
It was neat. Don't play the sequel.
It's really good.
It's an atmosphere first, gameplay second kind of game. Only barely a step above moviegames.
>>724977421t. bing bing wahoo fag
>>724975485I haven't played it myself, but it seems interestingThe name makes me think of WFRP
only played a couple hours and remember almost nothing but it didn't hook me enough for how gay the setting feels w/ a female soldier (bedraggled sole survivor unskilled levyman or not) as your first interaction, and the player not feeling like a real living organism because it's easier to write him/her as ambiguous or whatever. what i mean is that everyone refers to you as an equally capable and respectful them, it's not very immersive or fitting to the technology level of the story imo. even the sorcery adaptation by inkle had the npcs talk to you more naturally based on your sex i mean come on. and that is more diagetic or whatever you call it because well you're a sorcerer. more unisex a role than a rugged solo frontiersman lol idk if the writer's native language has no gendered words or something that was probably part of itone of my favorite games of all time is wildermyth so i'm not just an anti faggy writers and designers autist, they can still make enough good parts to outshine the annoying moral peacocking (helps that it's as simple as changing a couple values in one ini file to have no homos and less swarthiness at least in the randomly genned characters)
>>724977491the fact that it's "more of a witcher game than all 3 combined" only solidifies that it's a moviegame at heart
>>724977817>"more of a witcher game than all 3 combined" Who said that?
>>724978014this poster >>724976067
>>724978087fair enough bit of an odd comment since the name more suggests a Warhammer Fantasy inspiration if anything
>>724977817>moviegames BADt. bing bing wahoo fag
>>724978236>>moviegames BADyes. just make the jump and play a visual novel or watch a real movie. don't pussyfoot and clog up steam's search results
>>724975485I found it impressive that the whole thing was made in Ren'py.Aside from the nice little music, it is a nice little adventure. You are not out to save the world, but you matter, you don't have to manage a whole party, and a bunch of lunatics, just watch out for yourself. Having a horse in a world of walkers is treated as a superpower, which checks out. Since all games treat your horse as either fast travel taken for granted, or as a summonable motorcycle. In the same stride it has unironically woke streaks that do it a disservice. I know RPGs overall ignore females being weaker to not make a big deal about it, but we got gays, polyamory hunters, female chieftains, and so on. If you can look that over though, you are in for a good time.
Too many fags and trannies. Made me drop it pretty fast
>>>moviegames BAD>yes. just make the jump and play a visual novel or watch a real movie. don't pussyfoot and clog up steam's search results
>>724978365Why would I "play" a visual novel when Roadwarden is a sandbox non-linear narrative ludokino? Go back to Mario.
>>724978621>it's good because it tells a storyWow, very innovative.>>724978536.
>>724975485Bit overrated but if you like this kind of game it is alright
>>724978749No, it's good cause it's a proper fantasy adventure where your choices matter, shape the story and time management is something that genuinely matters especially on the harder difficulties. There's a reason why the average "moviegame" you loathe so much gets more discussion here than the garbage you play. Because there's nothing to discuss about "And then I jumped from one block to another"
>>724978880Sounds like the older Atelier games, the superior moviegame where your choices matter and affect your time management.
>>724978972>SoundsSo you didn't even play this game? You were just talking out of your ass?
It seems to make incels upset so I'll keep an eye on it for next time it goes on sale
It forces gays into the conversation literally in the first encounter. Refunded.
>>724975485Man I had completely forgotten about this game, I played it, finished it and even liked it, but how the fuck did I forget about this game for so long, it's only been like 3 years.
