I think thats totally fine, agree with you, and even do it myself.But that doesn't mean the lore or official portrayals change to suit that.When you have 5 people at a table playing D&D, MAYBE only one of them is a Tiefling, but the entire world the game is set in doesn't shift to make all Tieflings hot, socially accepted, and well liked just because this particular tiefling controlled by the player is attractive, and well liked by his party members. The one real contentious race are tieflings because they're the quintessential no personality choice, but idk I just dont really care. Races are just such nothingness in BG3, and kinda 5e as a whole, that it really just comes down to whether you want like purple skin or pointy ears or whatever, under that they're all pretty much just humans. Dragonborn are actually cool though.
