It’s an arcade racing game that plays like an arcade racing game. It’s not the most high budget thing ever but it’s dumb fun and I think there should be space for that these days. I really enjoyed the demo and am looking forward to playing more tonight.I hope there’s a training mode or something in the final game - it took me a while before I was able to get the hang of characters I liked. If someone kills you, you can hunt them. In Riders, it feels like you don't even know who killed you, just that you see a 'revenge' icon above someone, and assume it was them. A faceless icon, not a character.Powerups are too plentiful to make up for the 16 players, but they're so easily obtained that you ultimately have 10 in everything, meaning it's all up to vehicle choice.Map is considerably smaller than the original, everyone is constantly at eachothers throats, and the underbelly of the island doesn't really space out enough players since everyone hangs out on the surface layer.The minigames so far I have no problems with.Racing seems super fun though with all the added new mechanics.
