Yeah, the Riddler trophies really feel like a holdover from when game developers felt like every game had to have a million little collectibles for no reason.

Honestly, it'd be better if you just had a few riddles you had to solve. Would make him more memorable.

I guess i won't do it in Knight. Since in Origins i didn't hear anything and for KNight i knew it was like 200 instead of the 400 of city i thought it would be better or easier or at least it wouldn't kill my fun and waste my time.

The 5 hours i had taken from me gathering only 55% of cases in Origins i could have spent actually playing the main quest, but now zero mood to do that shit since this collectable garbage killed my interest in the franchise and barely have time to play.

The worst part is the Metroidvania bit where you have to go back through the entire fucking game now that you have your full arsenal to search for hundreds of these stupid little things if you want to 100%.

You'd think you would get used to seeing, "haha, you don't have the tools for this, enjoy crawling through vents for half an hour trying to get back here 10 hours later in the story!", but it grinds its way in like a chainsaw instead of just becoming ugly wallpaper.

I only bothered to complete City and it wasn't worth it.

I wish he had less trophies just lying around the place or deathtraps deep in early areas that are a bitch to get to(the sewer one in City that needed either glue grenades or the zipline walk upgrade, I forget which) that need endgame upgrades and more trophies with puzzles attached to them.
Knight adding more bloat with every area having it's own flavor of bullshit "destroy this tv/ceramic whatever/balloon/chattering teeth" really irked me too. I genuinely enjoyed playing the game but between riddler's countless filler collectibles and the filler chase APCs/disarm drill bomb ones I have no desire to ever replay the game. At least the fillter outpost missions had gimmicks and some neat setups here and there.

The Riddler stuff was at its worst in Knight. Holy fuck, I didn't even come close to finishing it. There was just no way, I knew early on that I didn't have the patience for it. I think I got all of them in Asylum.
