I would like start playing but it feels so overwhelming, I just keep watching youtube tutorials
Just take the plunge and start a game. The AI is braindead in eu5, and there are virtually no threatening countries early on. Once you get used to the Microsoft Office UI and your eyes adjust to the screen clutter, you will realize this is probably the simplest grand strategy game yet.
>>725484013This is literally the easiest and simplest the game will ever be.
>>725484013stop being a pussy and just unpause the fucking game
Will I enjoy this if Victoria 3 was too hard for me?
>>725484637>and there are virtually no threatening countries early onle France
>>725484013Saw a video on youtube that this game has slavery. I just bought it.
>>725484013Just start playing.I used to get into this retarded spiral of watching tutorials for overly complex strategy and simulation games and reading all sorts of online guides and psyching myself up for an extremely complex game and then just burning out playing these games like some kind of checklist I've seen on Youtube.Just play the fucking game. Own up to the fact you're going to suck and not understand everything for tens of hours, and if you still don't understand something that's actually getting in the way of you winning then you can look it up.
>>725484826I bordered France as Holland, and they ignored me for over a century. I swear the AI has nothing pushing it to actually DO things.
>>725484013your playing as castile. it literally plays itself, you can do anything except fight france.
>>725484013EU4 and I guess 5 were the least exciting paradox game of the bunch. Between Vicky, hoi, stellaris and CK, it just depends entirely on ruler mana to do anything. Just play stellaris or HOI4. If you need swords and armor play CK2. Ck3 if you need graffix. >war? >costs 250 war mana>development?>50 admin mana>trade?>40 diplo mana>shit leader because lol rng?>enjoy waiting fuck boy>no theres nothing you can do to help it>fuck you Fun!
>>725485232Further>want to do funny colonizing?>fuck you pay 250 diplo mana>get bodied by great powers that specialized into colonizingOh baby!
OK so only Europe and Japan are functioning ATM. What's a good small-sized country with high potential?
>>725484803Its significantly easier than Vicky. Just develop your counties as much as you can and you'll lead in tech and after that it enters creative mode.
>>725484013It's okay, I spent 34 hours in-game to progress a mere 80 years.
>ai sucks dickGreat, so it's going to be another couple years until the game is good. It took Paradox how long to make the HOI4 ai slightly more competent?
>>725485746I don't know if high potential, but Wallachia is a rise against the odds story.
4 is better and will be for quite a while. The AI in 5 is almost nonexistent.
>>725486227Don't let the shills hear you say that. They'll call their discord sisters.
>>725485457>get bodied by great powers that specialized into colonizingReeee why is Portugal better at colonizing than the EPIC Groß-Prussia???
>>725486227>>725486391manafag cope
So do I understand correctly, that's how parliaments work:>promise a lot of shit to your estates>use it to pass a bunch of laws/fabricate claims>parliament declines>you lose stability, but still get what you wantedHow does that make any sense?
>>725486556So true sister!
>>725484013Baby steps my nigga. Nothing wrong with playing sub-optimally or even failing. You could totally just create CBs and slowly conquer and integrate new lands and not give too much crap about the economics side of things. Then maybe do the exact opposite on your second game and just develop your lands and do economics shit instead of warmongering. On your third game do both.
>>725486523>waste a civics slot on making colonization less like pulling teeth>or get headshot in the new world by England, Portugal and Spain Basically every EU4 playthru ever. Dynamic gameplay people!
>>725484013How do you not get steamrolled by bigger pop blobs in this game? If a country has 2x my population, they just become untouchable to me.
>>725487263democracy
>>725487263sometimes you don't want to lose stability or shit they propose is actually nice
>>725488004can't you just ally a big boy and make him fight yours wars for you?
>>725488190>sometimes you don't want to lose stabilityYou could just not call the parliament
>>725484013This game is a spreadsheet with colourful UI. It's as interesting as some excel file too.
>>725488721it's free shit if you just pass something they like
>>725488770All games are numbers with a graphics skin ontop
>long time paradox enjoyer hereIs there any use playing this game over eu4? I don't want a repeat of Vicky 3 again.
what are institutions for?i don't see any modifiers in the highlight
>>725489926You get a tech tree from each institution
>>725489991oops i automate researchty
>>725488004alliances unless france targets you. then its ogre.
>>725484013what's the worst that can happen?you make a mistake, but learn?
>>725491168i could waste 1000 hours
>>725486227>>725486391you havent even played the gamer you doomer cunt
>>725490803>spam positive relations with france>accept that youll never have diplo mana until they allyDid eu5 fix the mana reliance problem?? It just mogs the pace of any game.
>>725487263just like in real life
In eu4 you could unlock a secret game mode by starting a game of CK2 with the sunset invasion on. When you port the save file to eu4, the new world is entirely populated by advanced versions of the natives. Was this added back into eu5?
>>725494271do they even still do save ports?
>>725484637>>725484826>and there are virtually no threatening countries early on.So this is a lie.I tried Pahang and the Khmer and Majaphit both decided to menstruate all over me.Tried Kilwa and fucking Zimbabwe and a bunch of other niggers out of nowhere. Even fucking Madagascar requires multiple wars in the first year to get anywhere. The easiest country I played, was actually Holland funny enough. You're a part of the HRE of course they leave you alone. Pussy country.
>>725494271that's not a secret game mode the save converter is a mod
>>725494450>playing outside of Europe >in a brand new EU game with no dlcThose regions are basically still in open beta.
>>725494450I liked Tenochtitlan because you start small and so do all your neighbors. Just sit on the city with your army in the first declare independance war until you can peace out and start expanding slowly.
>>725484013pro tip: take loans and never pay them back
>>725496315thanks, but what does it have to do with video games?
>>725494936Its not a mod. Its released by paradox
