Am I the only person who say this pop up, midway through the level and assumed by "reach a certain point" it meant a certain point in the dispatch shift and not "if your stat is too high on the graph"?

They also never tell you that you can avoid the instant failure by having lower stats, which would have completely prevented any such confusion.

I swear this might be one of the worst instructions I have ever seen in a game

No, anon, that's retarded. The fuck did you think that X in the chart meant, then?
>They also never tell you that you can avoid the instant failure by having lower stats
This is true. When I replay the game, I'll have to be more careful to upgrade combat on as few people as possible. I think it's a kind of neat mechanic but it definitely catches you by surprise on your first run. I failed a lot of missions cause of this.

I thought the X just meant you will fail regardless, not that it was a specific area to avoid. The game could have cleared this up with literally 2 words. "When you reach a certain point on the graph."

Except when you fill the stat requires up to or passed the point the game outright tells you on the right that you will fail.
So not only is this a fault of your own reading comprehension but your apparent incapability to read as a whole.
>>
>>725486689
Yeah
It also doesn't help that the mechanic is fuckawful and the next dispatch has a bunch of missions that fail once you have 5+ combat, while having three slots to send fuckers. Fucking retarded.
>>
>>725488403
The game isn't clear on that though.
They failed at copywriting 101
>>
>>725486689
It's what I assumed too. Like it's some mission that it supposed to fail no matter what for story purposes or something. It wasn't really clear when you encountered it for the first time since it was at the ass end of the shift and it was the only mission of that type. However the next time you encounter them they all have a massively lower max combat threshold (it's like what, 5-6?) and you get a bunch of them. At that point it's just pretty clear: the devs are retarded niggers. This is a mechanic you introduce in the early game, not somewhere past the halfway point where people will already have built their heroes a certain way.
>>
>>725486689
>Am I the only person
Yes, most people aren't that retarded
>>
>>725486689
>>725488114
>>725488687
its very clear. there is an X, and in order to "reach a certain point", that is obviously the point, it would be by filling the stat thing. also on the right there is a line that states "this mission will fail" ONLY when you assign someone that makes the stat go above the marker. if you assign somebody that does not exceed it, you dont see that line. there is no reason to assume "you're going to fail this call no matter what" because that would be utterly retarded game design. you're illiterate and retarded.
>>
doesnt the game let you refund and redistribute stat points?
>>
>>725489890
No. Which is based.
>>
>>725490183
i could have sworn i saw somebody doing that. maybe they just had skill points stocked up and were figuring out what to do with them when i tuned in. oh well
>>725488712
>where people will already have built their heroes a certain way.
maybe you should have people be specialists instead of anticipating fighting for every mission, or not make everyone well rounded.
>>
>>725489740
"When you reach a certain point" can mean a lot of things, especially in the context of where it happens. The X is also at the top, which could imply that it's there so you know that you cannot complete the mission.
The X being in any other position would have made more sense. They could have worded it better to avoid any such confusion, and had a second page explaining the mechanic. This is bad instruction writing.
Even 80's jrpg tutorials were more clear
>>
>>725490607
I'm OP, I actually had many heroes with a low combat stat because it was mostly useless, Vitality, charisma, and intellect were the most useful stuff. But I still failed because of how bad the instructions were
>>
>>725488114
certainly could be more clear, but if they say 'reach a certain point' and show you a graph why would you think they are referring to something they arent showing you?
>>
>>725490735
>>725490827
how does one "reach" a point in the game? the only thing that you increase is the stat line, and the prompt only comes up at this screen. its very clear where it is, and any confusion on how it works can be cleared up by just changing around who you assign. you guys are fucking stupid. ESPECIALLY if you have options that dont hit the mark.
>>
>>725486689
You're an idiot with bad reading comprehension.
>you can also fail for not meeting minimum requirements
That's just common sense. Like, you can ruin food by burning it, but without a fire you can't cook at all.
>>
>>725489890
Golem has a skill that lets you do that just for him.
>>
>>725490917
Because you had also reached a certain point in the shift, it's an ambiguous sentence and the graph could easily be interpreted as "If you see this X at the top, it means you can't succeed."
