That was the original idea behind it, and that's how the threads were successful and gained a following back in the day. Before you argue about PC or Toasty, those very clearly are comedic characters, created and loved for their value in scenarios and gags and memes and not for their designs. They serve the purpose of interacting with other characters first rather than existing as standalone designs, unlike regular console-tans. This is why their designs are so simplistic and strikingly different fin nature from the others.
