I am Monster Rancherfag but I didn't find DW1 particularly hard.NPCs pretty much tell you what to do and after the early game you always have food and HP/MP floppies and can just warp around if you need something. All the best recruits are within a few minutes of town. If you don't rush you only really get jumped by Greymon as a surprise.

I can find a source but its funnier if I dont because you wont believe me even though its true.No Okinawa, Arachnemon, Mummymon or Vamdemon. It would have been a Digimon that looked like Ken's dead brother. But it would cut off its fucking body parts to throw at them as an attack which would explode until there was nothing left but a mere concept of him. It's insane and I dont know how it would have worked but it directly follows up on Ken's arc. It was too fucked up so they came up with Okinawa.
