Fantasy is sort of fucked. It's just one of many fantasy settings out there in a saturated market if fantasy/isekai crap. It has the opposite problem of 40k. It doesn't have enough secondaries supporting it. 40k is surviving because its one of the few science fiction settings that has a massive scope and regular updates/multimedia, in an era where sci-fi has nothing going for it, so it pulls in a ton of secondaries that buy the merch/vidya/joytoys.

It's leftist but only in a very tepid way. It basically wears the costume of left wing sci-fi to sell toys. Most of the things in Warhammer that are satirizing the British government were ripped off from elsewhere, like the hive cities which are a ripoff of the mega-blocks from Judge Dredd. I agree there's no problem with female Space Marines/custodes. However they haven't been introduced all that well. You would have to do a new edition of the game to properly write them into the setting.
