Black Ops 6 is literally the best selling PS5 game. A console that had been out for 5 years had its entire library trampled by a crossgen game that came out in 2024. Why the fuck wouldn't they make more?
That and Infinity Ward doesn't have any movies to rip off for aurafarming setpieces to pad out a nonsense plot for Modern Warfare so they needed another Black Ops to buy time.

3 was the second cod with exo suits. 4 introduced battle royale to the franchise. Cold War was half assed since warzone became the real money maker. 6 was more half assed, and 7 managed to be even more half assed with it's 1 year developement time
