Dutch kickboxing was the result of japanese kickboxing, which was the brainchild of a kyokushin guy who wanted revenge against muay thai.Muay thai for a wandering monk weirdly makes more sense. It was taught in thai buddhist temples earlier than shaolin's empty handed martial arts.
