Was it deserved?
No
no but he didn't have to be in the rest of the game so it's bittersweet
no but that's the point - bad shit happens to good people
Ellie.
>>725949816actually druckmann said his choice at the end of the first game was bad and he had it coming.the actual point was that revenge will only bring harm to you and those around you, even if it's justified like, according to druckmann, in abby's case.
>>725948991Yeah
>>725948991He was a terrible person, so yes.
>>725948991I expect better of people than seeing something that ended well betrayed by playing it's DLC or sequel. If you played the DLC or Sequel you are a bad person and did the wrong thing.Make up for it. But not like you will ever be forgiven.PS3 version the only perfect one maybe. Seen screenshot comparisons and PS3 version looks much better. Something impressive about it pulling it off too. That is gone if you play other versions I expect.Better to enjoy the best of something. Than it as otherwise elsewhere.
>>725951228>actually druckmann said his choice at the end of the first game was bad and he had it coming.I will never understand how this man wrote a somewhat satisfying ambiguous ending and decided, no, you know what? Fuck that. I'm going to ruin it.
>>725952512Because he didn't write it and that's why he seethed so much at it.
>>725948991You mean narratively? Thematically for what 2 meant to say? Thematically for what 1 was about? In-universe?>>725952512Because TLoU1 was co-directed with Bruce Straley, who was outright stated to be who denied Druckmann's original idea about Tess crossing the country searching for Joel looking for revenge. Sounds familiar? Same way Dishonored 2 was worse than the first game even though they were both directed by Harvey Smith; the latter was also co-directed by Raphaƫl Colantonio, Arkane's founder, who was missing entirely from the sequel. Sometimes you can get bad writers to put out good material as long as they had a turd wrangler on board.
I love the way Druck's shitty revenge story got shat on twice. Once by gamers, who he could safely disregard as racist, bigoted incels, then by normie TV watchers after Joel's death, who he could not. Then HBO fired him.
