I hate how they completely changed the look of Anna and Emma in the sequel. I wasn't a huge fan of their anime-ish look in the first game but they look straight up ugly in the second game.

Game where you are something, and others arent. They have concessions. They are concessions.
Their offering is conceeding.

You don't have anything, because it would be taken.

Even thoughts you guard from having so aren't stolen.

Escape seems impossible.

Then someone singular shows up. Gets their ass kicked. Doesn't rape you.
You see some of their world.

This was indeed odd, I wouldnt say bad though, it still fun to kill the enemies, but I guess one of the great elements of survival horrors that is limited ammo which increase tension is gone from this game.
Maybe you should look this more like a puzzle horror game than a survival horror, since the puzzles are way harder than resident Evil or silent Hill and there is great emphasis on puzzles.
