I feel like most of the weapons are utterly useless compared to the sword
The Dragon Sword can close distance quick, has high damage, is very fast, and has air combos. Compared to the Lunar or Dabilahro, which are slower and don't have Flying Swallow, so ranged enemies like the RPG guys become harder to deal with if you're not next to them. Same with the Nunchaku, which lets you collect a lot of combos, but at the cost of range, damage, and breaking enemy guards, so no point in ever using it
I don't know, am I wrong or missing something?

Most of TN's games are designed around the default weapon for play testing which is usually the katana or close to it, a rare exception is Jack's Game which was designed around the big sword

I don't know man. The military is annoying to deal with without Flying Swallow when they're spread around the arena. So far, none of the other weapons have anything that closes the distance, unless there's an upgrade I missed somewhere

Are Ayane and Momiji playable in NG2B in the same way they are in NG3RE (chapter challenge, ninja trials) or are they confined to their respective story chapters?

Not really that easy with hitscan RPG spams with no cooldowns and always knock you away. I don't know if it's a bug, but sometimes, enemies can spam projectiles without reloading, while other times they reload normally. I really want to play around the other weapons, but without Flying Swallow or juggle combos, I end up struggling

I am literally telling you dude, if you know how to ON LAND JUMP (on landing flick the stick + jump to jump faster instead of holding stick + jump) the rockets miss you

Dragon Sword is the best, but most of the weapons have something they are very good at. Only NG1 speaking though.
