Remember what Steam took from you
>>
The fuck are you talking about? Big boxes were already phased out by the time the original shitty iteration of Steam no one remembers anymore came out.
>>
I member how by 2006 when all the sixth generation had come out GameStop and all other game retailers full stopped carrying any PC game other than WoW and other Blizzard crap and everyone was saying shit like
>PC dead muh PC dead muhfugga
>Didn't you hear incel freak? PC is D-E-A-D
>Consoles and mobile is the only future PC is dead you retard nerd
I 'member how epic Timmy abandonned the PC market entirely for a god damn decade in favour of queers of war and mobile shit and also was on "PC dead" bandwagon and he has the balls to say steam's market domination is unfair and unwarranted.
You corpo niggers left the market 4 dead god dammit, Gabe took over an empty fucking field that's how I 'member it

When I moved of my parents place a long time ago I kinda did it hastily and just chucked "office type shit" in a box. Forgot about it but decided to open it when I was changing the furnace filter recrntly.

I know it's reddit as fuck to get all emotional about video games but there was just something about seeing all this stuff again just made me feel something.

Good. Physical is for homos.

This, by that point most PC games came in cheap black DVD cases and usually just had a slip of paper with the cdkey.

OP is a faggot zoomer.

lettering art used to be a thing. A lot of things used to be a thing.
>>
Swapping in and out physical media is fucking lame. The only thing I truly miss are the thick ass manuals, the big ass maps and other bonuses.

>I would need to build a library to keep all my hundreds of games
Phew, thanks Steam

I was just undusting my PS3 games. They look just like PS5 cases , but they weigh 4 times as much. it was a surprising reminder.
>>
Main issue with DVDs on console is you have to put the disc to play the game. On PC you can use Daemon Tools or something.

>tfw some Canadian games being even heavier because they either have two manuals (one EN one FR) or a double sized manual having both languages.

Actual truth nuke that anti-steamies don't wanna hear.
>>
>endless anti-Steam threads
I wonder who's paying for these this time.
The recent announcement sure made someone panic badly.
>>
I don't agree with it but you can still make your own.

if physical is so important to you just get bluray burner, cases and bluray discs, print custom cover art front, side and back
>>
>>725970714
Burned blu-rays are lower quality.

I still have my copies of Half-Life, Blue Shift and Opposing Force in the jewel cases. The cardboard box fell apart years ago but I'll never part with them even if they will likely never go into a PC again.

Euro PS1 games had weird proprietary cases for the same reason, thick ass manuals cos they had to be in English, French, German and Spanish. They looked good on shelves with the thick spines but were really fragile and we couldn't just replace them with CD cases like the Yanks could.
