In many ways I agree. Yokai abilities were retarded and the level design is much less interesting in 2.

Reminder that Epic haters missed out on free Nioh and GTAV (enhanced edition was free too)

I liked them about the same. I'm hoping 3 is at least as good.

Probably correct but I really enjoyed 2 and am moderately looking forward to 3

I tried replaying Nioh 1 but I felt way more limited in what I could do. Doesn't help that the skill system absolutely sucks in the first game.

Only Storyfags think that. Everything else besides the story and characters is better in 2. I don't care about story in my Action games.

1 sucked ass cheeks. 2 improved on almost everything besides set protagonist who was just blander than a Teletubby.

Nioh 2 had better enemy variety spread throughout levels.
For some reason Nioh 1 holds back a lot of enemies, you fight standard Yokai brutes as 'minibosses' too much

Will Nioh 3 have an interesting new game plus, or will it be boring like the others because of leveling diminishing returns and being too overleveled for most of it?

Honestly? The story in Nioh 2 wasn't bad.
What they should've done is give Hiddy (both male and female) one voice and allow him to talk with people.
That and some elements should've been done differently. Like his/her father Saito Dosan not dying and allowing for some interactions. Same with Lady Noh discovering that Hiddy is her older brother/sister and also having interactions with them. Not to mention Saito should've been interacted with before he got possessed or alternatively Hiddy managing to save them before Kashin Koji burns Saito out.
So much potential here and it's lost.
Hoping that Nioh 3 won't have such wasted potentials.
