>be me>get really nostalgic about my old PS3>decide to dust it off>plug it onto my tv>decide to download diablo 3 since I've never played that one>waste my entire day downloading and installing it on the PS3(downlading and installing takes forever)>start playing the game>having a blast>PS3 shuts off>reboot it>play another 20 minutes>PS3 shuts offFuck, my PS3 is finally dying man, after all these years. I wonder if it's the power supply, maybe I can fix it but I'm afraid it's just gonna die anyways.
>Diablo 3 on the PS3

>>725989993clean it, repaste and try againmight as well replace the cmos battery too
>>725989993i lost my mind last year and bought a ps3 and like 15 games for it, barely played it
External/replacable power supply is a good idea. One for heat, two because my 20 year old PC was revived with a new power supply.Components, should be "system on chip" and sealed in an aliminuim heat sink that resides in water. Eg put your mas produced awesome thign in a bucket of water. Or part of an air conditioning/refridgeration/freezer.Such appliances should be modular and made thought out of how they can be incorporated with others. Eg turn on and off any/all with proximity to phone carried, and by time/conditions/sensing. Like makeing you some food if sensing you're hungry/needing energy, and what kind of energy.-----The best version of games tends to be what it was released on. No subtle thigns are not expendable for framerate or resolution. Can't do it exactly then don't port it at all.Resolution isn't an upgrade anyway, it exposes deficiency that isn't present at lower res. The cohesion lower res facilitates is lost too. Things showing different levels of detail/complexity.Silent Hill 2 should be played at 320x240. With 1024x1024 textures. Textures should always exceed display resolution. Should always be more there than you can see. Artistic pixelisation and exception or better standard maybe. But backgrounds looking like you could gio into them. Them world. Not a suggestion. Not a token placeholder or bad thing to get used to. Game not a false thing. A world. Not an apology. Freedom.Better framerate is probably fine. If you can get that sure. System struggling with low framerate is ok somewhat, or preferable. Aiming needs high framerate though. Or input inertia so you can time where aiming point will be over something you want to hit. Or to a position where it will hit, like leading targets and compensating for slowdown, gravity, wind, what will happen etc.
>>725991365FTP always drops out with my PS3, everything else I use over FTP works perfectly. I painstakingly transferred all my games onto a 1tb HDD through USB flash.
I miss PS Home
>>725989993my 2009 slim still works great, except the cmos battery is completely donzo
>>725989993it's not the power supply, if it turns on and then off after a while it's because it's overheating. Probably gonna have to replace the thermal paste at the very least but opening up a PS3 is such a pain in the ass because it has way too many screws.
who still has one of these bad boys?
>>725989993Diablo 3 is on PS4 and the PS5 has BC.
>>725989993>>725993975My PS3 Slim has been sitting in my living room for over a decade (I had to look that up, wow time flies) now and I've never had any overheating issues. The thing must be packed full of dust and pet hair at this point.I never had a reason to replace it because Snoy lost the fucking plot with the PS4. Paid online, redesigned dual-shock, no Gran Turismo, too expensive, yuck!
>>725993783Same.
