Best practices for modding in 2011 are considered outdated today, as the engines get more reverse engineered people learn new things about how it prefers and expects game data to be structured and loaded for smooth operation. Like for example, .esp files really aren't meant for play, they are intended as temporary development versions before being finalized into an .esm, lots of minutiae around form IDs weren't really known back then, MO/MO2 didn't really exist so you didn't have easy ways to keep mod files separate from the main game folder so scrapping a bad load order meant reinstalling the whole game, etcModding Bethesda games has changed massively in the 14 years since Skyrim came out, because more people delved deep into the guts of the engine to figure out how it actually worked instead of just a surface level understanding that remained largely unchanged for most of Bethesda's games since Morrowind.
