Just beat rebirth for the first time. What the FUCK happens in chapter 14? One minute you’re in the temple then you’re playing flash backs of Zack, then you’re on a date with Aerith, then you’re fighting Sephiroth in space. Then Aertih is dead but she’s not dead but she’s still dead. And Zack is alive and just. And Red XIII can apparently sense Aerith even though no one else but Cloud can. Also Glenn IS Sephiroth??? Bruh what the fuck lol it was certainly entertaining thats for sure.

>>725999374Oh boy. So it's really dumb but let me try and summarize this as respectfully as humanly possible. Just understand that I FUCKING hate it too. The biggest change from OG to Remake is the addition the Dream Worlds. The Dream Worlds are little pocket dimensions within the Lifestream where the souls of the dead continue to exist until they slowly diffuse into the Lifestream. Yes this does make the narrative confusing because we learn from Sephiroth that all of the bazillion worlds count as the Planet but inevitably, they'll all die. Including the Planet itself. But what if they didn't? Sephiroth still has the same goal as OG: absorb the Lifestream. But the addition of the Dream Worlds means he has the secondary goal of reuniting all of the Dream Worlds too. Why? Because Jenova is also broken up between all the Dream Worlds. And unlike everyone else who diffuse into the Lifestream, Jenova can't and so is shattered amongst all of them. In the final battle, Sephiroth displays that he can already force Worlds to join or separate as he wishes but he won't do it until Aerith is dead. Meaning, somehow, Aerith issues a deterrent to him just winning. Even as he forced Worlds together, Aerith and Zack's souls just showed up to fight. So Sephiroth is going to have to adjust his plans a bit.
