Why are you hating on 8gb vram?
You are still gaming on a 1660 super from 2016 and no one tells you anything

I'm gonna build a PC thinking of getting a gtx 1080 for about 85 dollars or so
I think it should be good
But wondering if I might regret not getting something better

I mean, how many games require more than 8GB of VRAM, and how many of those look like absolute dogshit at medium settings and lower? Monster Hunter Wilds is the only case I can think of, and people "fixed" that by doubling the game size with uncompressed assets in the folders, where 8GB cards suddenly just don't get the performance hang problems for High textures at least.
