What's your excuse, OP?
>>
>>726004218
I didn't get lucky 124 runs in a row
>>
Love this game but never beat it.
Great gameplay but fuck RNG.
>>
>>726004218
let me guess, this guy manipulates the RNG somehow

Binding of isaac and its consequences on game design have been a distaster for the industry

the year is 2025
/v/ is still full of shitters

lmaoing @ the shitters in this thread thinking RNG is everything in FTL. It's not difficult to achieve an 80% win rate or higher on hard mode if you
>prioritize certain upgrades/system purchases early on
>always have enough money for shops
>know what to pick for blue events
>learn how to effectively micromanage crew
The game is busted, and if it were solely luck-based, there wouldn't be guys out there getting win streaks in the dozens with randomized ships.

Void War is the superior game for the simple fact that you don't get infinite health medbays.

this is when I quit the game and never touched it again

Problem?

Hexcells. It's a game. He's playing it while going AFK to grind crew proficiencies against an enemy that can't deal damage to his hull.

People can go on triple digit winstreaks. So tired of retards who don't get roguelites and over emphasized the random aspect.
>>
Just backup and restore the save files as you like, its a minor bother

oh thats clever
>>
>>726004921
This. FTL isn't dogshit because of any delusions regarding RNG. FTL is dogshit because the user experience is dogshit and creates a needlessly steeper curve for what's otherwise a much shallower and easier to master game compared to your typical roguelike.
>>
>>726004154
FTL is maybe the only game that has done this well. The flagship is this difficulty 90 degree curve but the journey up to it is so fun losing to it doesn't feel that bad.
>>
>>726006495
I've found myself doing that too, the minmaxer impulse just makes it too tempting when you realize the opportunity
>>
the only flaw of FTL is getting the crystal cruiser via the quest
that shit is legitimately impossible
>>
>>726006858
Clash of the Titans is clearly the most bullshit thing in the game.
>>
>>726006858
Just start savescumming when the chance to get it arises
>>
>>726004154
FTL is one of the few games who does rogue-lite well as you can beat the game with the initial equipment and if you know what you are doing your chances are very high to win.
>>
>>726006697
Absolutely. The flagship’s ramp in difficulty is brutal, but it serves its purpose as a final exam for all the systems and decisions you've juggled to get there. It’s the only game where getting obliterated feels like a dignified sendoff instead of a waste of run time. Biggest crime is that more games didn’t rip that design off.
>>
>>726010812
Except if you ran a boarding ship
>>
>>726010136
>you can beat the game with the initial equipment
To be fair, Kestrel's weapons are among the best you can get in the game. They are crazy power efficient so you can survive even with bad luck in first sector(s) and don't have to build your ship around them. Slap another Burst II or Flak I and maybe a freebie heavy I you get all the time and you can kill anything

I was looking at this on Steam 2 days ago. I loved FTL a lot, played it to death and sometimes still do. Is Into the Breach a fun experience as well?
>>
>>726004154
>disable fleet pursuit
>game is no longer roguelite or heavily reliant on RNG
>>
>>726010136
Hard agree. The real beauty of FTL is how much mileage you can get out of sheer system knowledge. People act like it’s all RNG but if you know when to save missiles, how to prioritize subsystems, and adapt your route based on sector types, you can absolutely rock with the basic Kestrel build. Burst II is practically a cheat code and your early scrap gains can snowball hard if you don’t toss it into meme builds.
>>
>>726010812
The flasghip isn't even that hard, there are random ships in sector 5/7 that are more likely to kill you

How about the copycat, does that improve on the base-game at all?
>>
>>726015623
I loved Into the Breach. Gameplay wise it's more balanced and I'd say flat out better.

The one thing FTL has over it is that it nails its thematic niche perfectly. If you ever wanted to captain your own little Star Trek ship, you can instantly understand it. ItB tries to be its own thing so it's a little harder to grasp. I never knew I wanted to run a timeline drifting, city protecting, mecha piloting corporate merc squad into kaiju fights on a city sized chessboard. Turns out I really did
>>
>>726017081
It does, if you can look past the whole copycat thing. Stumbles a bit in places like a shortage of memorable events or simplified oxygen mechanics, but the new content more than makes up for it.
>>
>a statistical outlier exists
>therefore the general probabilistic rule is false
So many mathlets living vicariously through others. Truly pathetic cuckery.

Play good roguelikes that rely on your skill alone
>>
>I flip a coin 20 times and get heads every time
>SEE NOOBS IT'S NOT LUCK BECAUSE AN UNLIKELY EVENT OCCURED
none of you have STEM degrees lol
>>
>>726020129
>I get a one in a million chance of an event, and claim it's statistically significant
>You claim it isn't

okay bro
>>
>>726020129
If I have a 95% chance of getting heads on every flip I'm probably doing something else and not relying on luck
>>
>>726004154
Literally all roguelikes in a nutshell. Are you under 18?
>>
I'll never forget the time I got a free Weapon Pre-igniter in the first zone, just the most bullshit absurdly good luck possible, and still managed to lose soon after. I'll never live that shame down.
I blamed that loss on RNG (missiles hitting all the wrong rooms), but I dunno, there's people with 100+ wins a row so I think it probably was all on me.
