The 2D Metroids are atmospheric but there's also a lot of replay value and the game wants you to get the speed times. Cause you get to see suitless Samus, or in Fusion and Zero Mission, you get that and then there's some more for 100% sub-2 and low%. The Prime games don't give much incentive to do this both with rewards and mechanics. You can still 100% them in one sitting on a second run if you've got an afternoon to spend.
