Worthless arcade quarter muncher dogshit that's hard just to stretch out the play time and combat the rental market.
indistinguishable from a bot award
I think you've spent way more time seething about the game's difficulty than I spent beating the game
>>726006535Litteraly nothing in the game is hard after you reach Blasted Steps, which is like 5 hours in. Just explore if you have a hard time and you'll see how rewarding it is and how OP Hornet can becomes once you acquire the right tools.
they really should release a game where you have to pay a microtransaction to retry
It's an ok game overall. With some critical flaws, which /v/tards will never acknowledge. Same thing happened with og hollow knight.
>>726006535The sense of danger while exploring is unmatched. Can't take too many hits from strange enemies, every time you push forward there's no map. Truly an aristocratic explorer's game.
>>726006535better than expedition 33
>>726007443I'm pretty sure he's spent more time seething about games than he's actually spent playing games.
>>726006535Is the shard system a problem with the game, or the players?
>>726014906It's the tumblrtrannies
>>726014906What's the problem?
>>726014906>find cool shard alcove in wormways>it's right above spikes and all the shards disappearReally seems like they removed the magnet ability last minute
Are hollow knight games hard? Never played em but they look like easy dogshit. Super Meat Boy is a sidescroller that looks difficult.
>>726015264Shard pickups are deliberately bad because you're meant to buy shard bundles. This gives you another thing to spend rosaries on and another choice to make, which "fixes" the economy problem in Hollow Knight while also having inconsequential things to fill the giant map with.
>>726014906Shards are a terrible system that never actually bothered me because I did the gitgudscrub trickIn fact, I spent the entire game with always having them capped out because every fucking enemy drops that shit instead of rosariesThe economy of this game is fucking retarded compared to kino knight
>>726015470>The economy of this game is fucking retarded compared to kino knightDo you think they failed to fix HK's economy?Should they have left it as-is?
>>726014906>>726015264>>726015425>>726015470>Struggling with shardsJust buy the bundles and only use tools when you've familiarized yourself with the boss patterns. If you run out, that's on you not the game.
>>726016126But what's the fucking point of shard caches right above spikes. I'm not having trouble getting shards, I'm having trouble understanding the game design that causes them to put 3 shards as the reward for exploring.
>>726009232Too late, arcades are dead.
>>726015378HK is fine. Might challenge you a few times but you can generally just go elsewhere and come back stronger if that happens. It has some hard DLC shit but there's not much reason to put yourself through that unless you really dont want to move on from the game.SS almost immediately spits you in your face and calls you a pathetic loser and tells you to kill yourself for being such a miserable failure trying to force himself through this unfairly difficult game. As you get more upgrades it becomes less brutal but health and damage upgrades are spread extremely thin so you pretty much just have to bruteforce difficult segments instead of being able to leave and come back stronger. The biggest game changer early game is finding the wanderer crest and never getting tricked into using the reaper crest.
>>726006593jannies should really just start deleting those dogshit posts
>>726016375Thanks for the explanation anon, but get better taste in vidya, please.
>>726014906>get stuck on boss with no shard>switch to shaman with shard amulet>consume worm>go explore somewhere else>come back when you are fullIt's not difficult to figure out.
>>726016693>44 bosses>Say 22 will require you to do this, if we're being generous>Try fighting a boss, but tap out>Go explore some other place instead>Need to find new places to explore every time you get stuck on a boss>1 new area per boss>The game only has something like 27 areasAnon, you're going to run out of places to explore if you do this.
>>726014906Utterly retarded system, the focus should've been on acquiring tool pouches instead of having tools consume shards.>>726016693Or maybe the game shouldn't have grinding in it to begin with.
>>726017227You are not going to get stuck on every boss. You will sometimes find shard bundles when exploring. Sometimes you will use strategies that consume a low amount of shards, like flea potion or witch with trobbio's mirrors.>>726017252>exploring>grindingSkill issue
>>726017596>You are not going to get stuck on every boss.Yes, I said 22 out of 44.
Dogshit boring game
>>726006535>What's the point of hard games anyway?
>>726006535Difficulty is the point of games.
>>726006535>the game made me so upset that i made a video about itSad!
>>726006535Whats the point if i can't just walk forward and don't have to think?
Im no one to talk, because in games about building a base and collecting mats to keep going i get mad at myself, feeling stupid. Is like they worn me out.
I deleted this game right after i beat a boss and got rewarded with three shards
>>726020513Maybe the boss was not hard.
>>726009138You haven't played the game. Prove me wrong poser.
>>726012912Play more than five games in your life and then post.
>>726020275Says who?
the game that raped /v/ - erp and youtubersthank you Team Cherry
>>726016693>switch to shamanwhen people complain about Silksong's difficulty they are almost always talking about Act 1 where you have very limited health, very limited farming options for shards and very few optional areas to explore. if you can make it to Act 3 without issues, you're not going to have any shard problems period.
>>726018201Well, I can't fucking read.>>726022000But most of the hard bosses are Act 3 other than Last judge and beasfly. Like what are they getting stuck on, the fucking mech?
>>726006535Videogames are an invitation to challenge through learning and applying the systems and mechanics provided. This challenge does not need to be hard or easy, but it absolutely needs to be interesting and involving, otherwise there is no reason or reward to engage at all. For a game to remain interesting and involving the challenges it offers need to evolve with the player's understanding of the game as it proceeds, otherwise the player will grow bored and quit. Challenges that are more difficult inevitably require more thought out, nuanced understanding of the game and application of the tools it provides, creating a more engaging experience that fully explores the potential of the game and similarly rewards the player for exploring and mastering it. It also requires care and attention to maintain the systems therein as the difficulty is increased. In other words, making a game harder is the pinnacle of game design.
>>726022219>Like what are they getting stuck on, the fucking mech?Beastfly, Widow, Moorwing, Last Judge are the ones I've seen people complain about the most. Obviously that's because most people hadn't made it to Act 3 at that point but I think it's reasonable because again, you're not given a lot of options for how to tackle them.>But most of the hard bosses are Act 3Which ones? Coral Tower has the shortcut, Nyleth is easy and if you find Karmelita too hard you can just do Verdania instead. LL is a bitch but you can fight her fully maxed out at least. My point is that getting filtered in Acts 2 and 3 is almost impossible considering you can find tons of tools and upgrades and above all NPCs that help you with the fights if you explore enough. I don't think Act 1 is that harder either and you can still do things like skipping Moorwing and Last Judge altogether, but if you do end up fighting them it's much easier to get frustrated.
>>726016126>only use tools when you've familiarized yourself with the boss That's terrible design. I should be using up all my tools between every bench rest or the system just becomes an afterthought that adds nothing to the game.
>>726006535Overcoming challenges is gratifying
>What's the point of a game being a way *I* don't like?
