>gaming magazines are dead What went wrong?
Internet. Social media.

youtube
And now every website except tiktok is tanking in traffic because of google AI
>>726009069It's a shame, because I think those things have actually created the conditions for gaming magazines to come back. Everyone's starting to voice a lot of complaints about having to deal with everything being in a sloppy pile that gets sloshed through their feed, so something like a gaming mag that actually aggregates things in a visually appealing manner/with character would likely do quite well. It's just hard to actually get people's eyes on it anyways, even if they'd enjoy it
>>726007882Magazines in general are dead, the majority that existed in the 2000s no longer exist today.Entertainment Weekly is gone. So is the WWE magazine.
>>726009760>>726007882We shouldn't forget magazines were riddled with ads. they were essentially a past format of what we have today online, with the greatest difference being magazines were treated with care as a lost artform to hook more eyes and rake in more sales.
You will never go back to 1999.
>>726007882Edge is still alive but It fucking sucks. Is an artsy wonnabee style magazine, with non sensycal PR interviews to industry veterans and SH people Just to create hype around the next shit dumping soon on your DOA consoles. Basically the low tier scam and grifters of the Gaming Journos, like a magazine manifestation of the Dorito Pope.It used to be very more professionale and offered real insight of the production phases, and the people involved in every videogame around the world.
I don't really care about gaming magazines but I do miss physical strategy guides
