How do you save MMOs?
>>
Find a way to curb data mining completely.

I don't think it'll save them, but it's a start.
>>
MMOs have always been niche, WoW and to a lesser extent FFXIV are outliers. There's nothing to save, tons of them are still running with thousands of players.

Impossible but Hoyoverse: creators of Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero will attempt saving MMOs using Artificial Intelligence.

>UE5 Engine
>Realistic Fantasy Game
>Open World
>MMO
>PvP
>Artificial Intelligence Stimulated Eco System
>All-Terrain Battle AI
>Boss Fight
>Intellectual NPC

It's already over.

>read further into AI
>it's just "'advanced"" AI NPCs
I've been buckbroken into reading AI and thinking of LLMs, holy fuck

Tree of Savior was great, but it was ruined by being owned by Koreans.

The diversity in classes took it beyond the trinity and the potential for working with other players who were actually rare and special was great.

>hoyoverse
>saving anything
In other words, just throw as much money on ads as possible and you will "save" anything.
>>
>>726008129
People actually want the boom/bust cycles - playerbases are surfing them. To save MMOs you must disregard the typical MMO playerbase and acquire a different playerbase. Who would like to finance that?

She should be in a combat thong leotard. Alternatively bikini armor.

There I saved your MMO

>How do you save MMOs?
By not playing MMOs you quite literally save them. Prove me wrong
>>
>>726008129
mmo was very hard to make and requires a lot of money and mmo players back then are f2p
why make mmo when you can just make low effort slop gacha and make twice the money than an mmo?
>>
>>726008129
FRESH wow classic server every year
>>
make an mmo without a level cap that isnt designed around doing everything in the current patch and waiting until the next patch

I wait for M&M to come out and then play it while the zoomers play their shitty lobby games LARPing as MMOs forever.

play toram

That's the new savior class from BDO, you can get a leotard or a bikini outfit for her, it's a good game.

You don't. Certain games and genres age out over generations and were only relevant in terms of popularity for their time. MMOs were peak early on because there was fun in discovering shit or getting your ass kicked in when you wandered into a high level area. That time has passed. Only devs of those generations try to create and make those games relevant, but time moves on. They are niche at best now.
>>
>>726008129
You go back to the start and remember what MMOs were supposed to be about
Protip: it ain’t about the gear treadmill or PvP combat
>>
1. find a way to stop data mining/wikis
2. dont moderate unless fixing bugs
>>
>>726008129
>MMOs
>Massive Multiplayer Online

>Don't make the game have high standard requirements
>Don't make it too complex
>Don't make it to a specific target audience

Bro you can't get laid irl what makes you think you can get laid in a fantasy game
>>
>>726012263
because he's going to be with other horny nerds who can't get laid irl. same reason fags spread STDs so hard
>>
>>726010671
But the first MMOs were all about PvP, you couldn't just retreat to a PvE server either.
>>
I only just saw last night that Ashes of Creation is releasing on EA on Steam next month. I really hope it actually delivers.
>>
>>726008129
I'd have Miyazaki make a Dark Souls MMO, then everyone can stop copying WoW.
>>
>>726008129
Need more sandbox elements

Range ban the entire third world + China + Brazil + Russia.

This isn't 2002 anymore, white nerds aren't the majority users of the internet. MMOs are open to the whole planet and non-western Europeans are insufferable cheating animals. Gold selling utterly ruined Classic WoW's return. There were thousands of Chinese bots farming herbs, ores, and running through dungeons on an automated script to endlessly farm gold to sell to retards who are missing the whole point of playing an MMORPG.

I'm glad I got to experience the old MMORPGs. It was an exciting time, but it's just over. The market is too small and once you let in the animals, your game is ruined forever. MMORPG is done as a marketable concept. The cost of making a (good) MMORPG is so outrageously high now, you'd be foolish to try it.
