I think New York is vastly overrated. LA is far superior.

I'm aware I'm in the very tiny minority on that. Everyone seems to be of the opinion NY is good and LA is terrible but I disagree. NY I feel is trying way too hard and taking itself way too seriously. LA embraced the "This is really stupid shit" aspect perfectly.
