They just need to be a character you can enjoy.Since I've been playing some Sanic recently, Sonic for example isn't really a deep character or anything. He's a dude with a 'tude and he beats the bad guys. He still works in the plots he's thrown and is likeable, however simple or complex they are. Until the 2010's anyway.
