I always seem to go back to Kingdom Hearts 1 compared to every other game. I do consider KH2 better in a lot of ways, but I don't get that urge to play it like the first game

That's nostalgia for you. The fact that you can say KH2 is probably overall better is good and a sign that you aren't blinded by it. There's nothing wrong with nostalgia, its just bad when people use that as a reason why X game is good/better/goat.
