The best you'll get, even 30 years later, is Super Robot Wars, but said universe blends are restricted to giant robot anime and the occasional manga and video game.It's actually baffling that Bamco only attempted this same formula to their popular shounen franchises ONCE, waaaaay back in the Famicom days.

>>726040795on the one hand, yes. multiverse stories and trying to tie every canon into each other to maximize profits is cringe and and tiresome and creatively bankrupt. massive universes that have no point to the stories except to keep you hooked for the next episode are horrible.on the other hand, some crossovers can be fun and kino. freddy vs jason is cool, for example. alien vs predator is cool (even if the movies have been shit). crossover stuff that is non canon and just a fun "what if" scenario can be enjoyable, especially if it doesn't take itself seriously.
