Who's the best Zelda game director?

Me.

him

Hunter Schafer

Whoever directed OoT
>>

Koizumi, neither of those hacks can compare.
>>
Certainly not aonuma
>>
A director does nothing. A producer does nothing. They sit on their $10,000 couches all day until the product is finished and then they steal all the credit

Miyamoto/koizumi

>A director does nothing.
Neil Druckmann is, ironically, the ultimate proof that game directors actually do matter, and they have heavy influence on how a project turns out.

Koizumi, by a long shot. Aonuma has done nothing but try to fight against the Zelda series ever since he was put fully in charge of it.
>>
Let's go over their games (and correct me if I'm wrong) shall we?

Tezuka: LoZ, ALttP, and LA (Koizumi wrote this game)
Koizumi: OoT, and MM (Koizumi did all of the Clock town sequences)
Aonuma: OoT (Dungeons), MM (Aonuma did everything outside of Clock town events wise), WW, and TP.
Fuibayashi: OoS, OoA, MC, SS, BotW, and TotK

I dunno seems to be they ALL have solid games under their belt. If anything, they need to go back to the TEAM of Koizumi and Aonuma together again.

God forbid a nigga try to keep a series fresh instead of rehashing shit for 40 years.
>>
Koizumi
>>
>>726042212 see >>726044628

Koizumi had the best vision. Aonuma is good at coming up with decent, interesting dungeons, but he lacks Koizumi's talent for wonder.

Series dont need to change faggot. Make your own shit & fuck off
>>
>>726045043
I'd agree with this. Fujibayashi can step away. I like the Oracles/MC quite a bit but his last three games were hit and miss with the fans. Bring back Koizumi for the writing, since he actually has a writing background and put Aonuma in charge of the dungeon design, only specify that they must be more classic.

>Thing that will never happen, because everyone involved has been promoted beyond their area of competence
Shame.

>Series dont need to change faggot.
They literally do if they keep going new installments. If you want to play Boomer Zelda then boot up an emulator, unc.
>>
>>726045620
By that logic you should dissolve copyright and allow ideas to actually be iterated on in the free marketplace of ideas.
>>
>>726045620
NTA, but Dragon Quest is the only series I can think of that is content staying largely the same and still does ok.
>>
>>726042212
>directed OoT, MM, WW and TP
Definitely Aonuma
>>
>>726045973
It's important to remember what they did in those games. OoT was a big team of directors, and Aonuma was mostly in charge of doing the dungeons. In MM he was mostly in charge of all the events outside of Clock Town (which some people find tedious like the Zora Egg stuff), and of course he was the solo director on WW/TP...the latter of which he apparently didn't even want to make because he preferred his WW world. He went on record about a year or so ago saying he was tired of the old Zelda forumla by the time SS rolled around, so he probably has more fun being the producer of team that makes Zelda games with more physics stuff. To be fair to him, I imagine it's more fun to create than another block pushing puzzle.
>>
>>726044734
He started fighting against the series less than 15 years in
>>
>>726046353
I personally never had any issues with the quests outside of Clocktown in MM and I love WW so I'm still cool with Aonuma.

Unfortunately it's been confirmed the next new DQ is going to have action combat

Yeah. I do think he is a bit unbalanced but I like WW a lot more than TP, which apparently he didn't even want to make. The GOAT is Koizumi though. He's the best dev at nintendo and they know it so it's a no brainer they put him in charge of 3D mario.

However i think his sense of whimsy is a lot more beneficial to Zelda games.
