This is probably going to get me heat but Berseria is the very first Tales game to get the right amount of flinch resistance.Symphonia was a pain.Abyss gave the whole party Glory (very late game but still) which made them unflinchable to all but a handful of attacks. This was supposed to be a trade-off because tanking consecutive hits meant you'd die quicker, but it was too much of a boon to be offset by the cost.Vesperia only gave Yuri glory which made him an unstoppable combo machine and everyone else is strictly not as good and he could infinitely combo bosses. The PS3 version gave every boss a massive amount of techout and resistance frames so comboing them became nigh impossible, swinging the direct other way too hard.Graces introduced ironstance and jesus christ don't get me started on accuracy/evasion.Xillia your party members flinch from EVERY single attack no matter how gentle and enemies need to take consecutive hits even a tiny little bird can just staggerlock you if you're unlucky while it tanks hits. Endgame, Jude gets Grounded Stance which is Glory while both feet are on the ground. It's a linked skill so anyone who partners with him also gets it, making him the most valuable party member in the whole game.Xillia 2 fixed a lot like giving a ton of party members Grounded Stance endgame to make up for stagger being an issue kinda, but also fixed how enemies and bosses stagger in a major way with Power Combos which should absolutely be a series staple and brings back power charges during guard.Berseria finally allows you to gain a respectful amount of ironstance during attacks and guard power charging without making you completely impervious to flinching. It also has a weaker version of Power Combos which a lot of people ignore because it's simply not as good as it was in X2. You can combo every boss if you're good enough, all the way up to and including the final boss and post-game bosses.Tales of Arise took a fat shit on all of that.

Recently played Destiny DC. I dropped it at the final dungeon where you need to split your party. I had enough of the game's bullshit, the entire second part of the game is a disaster.
