Yeah, that's the point where they really started giving and telling too much, and so It lost the tension and mystique that made it good. It also went from being science fiction with a sort of historical base to just pure fantasy schlock. Don't even get me started on all the multiverse/ alternate universe shit. A classic trope of bad writing. The og lore was fun to try to figure out because it tied in with historical conspiracy theories and mysteries, and it was mostly showing rather than telling.

They all come together perfectly.
Even Die Rise and Tranzit are fun. All 4 original games are timeless and Black Ops 3 Workshop is still getting classics this year. We just got Die Rise Remastered, with Tranzit Buried and Five coming 2026. Not to mention: Call of the Dead and Mob of the Dead got perfect ports last year. Making the best trilogy all playable for free with just BO3 base package purchase. I can’t wait until we get IX port in BO3.

zombies gets boring by the time everyone is decked out and progresses too slowly in the early rounds if coop. crafting was helpful for mitigating the effect but it wasn't enough.
